Hey everyone, my landing story may not be as detailed as everyone else but here goes. My wife flew to the U.S. to meet me so we can drive up together since I was living in the U.S. We then packed up all my stuff in the Uhaul truck and drove from San Antonio to Winsdor boarder entry (26 hours). It was a long drive but we made it safely. Of course we paid a toll of only $5 USD, then when we got to the immigration officers to enter Canada, itwas easy. Asked about 3 questions then we were sent in to the office to speak to another officer for my landing process. Next officer was even friendlier, signed paperwork and then after 5-10 minutes we were on our way. Total time with immigration10-15 minutes. Wife and I finished the drive until we got home, showered and then bed. Lol. Long drive with no sleep so that was it. Not much of excitement because I already visit every 2-3 months so it's like I was already a regular. Lol. From since then, transferring paper work and applying for needed documents. Should start work soon.

Thank you guys for all the support. Hopefully those of you still waiting will get through soon.

Congrats on landing and welcome to Canada!! No more immigration watching over your shoulder, such a relief!! :D So you and your wife can enjoy a belated anniversary. It's good that you are familiar with so much visiting here as well as living in the US. Hopefully that will lessen the culture shock :). What country are you originally from again? Can't recall....but sound like you and your wife must have had an interesting global love journey together :P!! Best wishes and blessings for your new life together in Canada.

YAY!!! Book those flights :D and happy travels. Blessings.

Well my husband got a denial letter yesterday. They said they did not think our marriage was genuine which is a joke. Yet also said he was denied because he has 2 assault charges from 10+ years ago in his country. The thing I'm confused about is they say he cannot appeal this decision and that he should not try to get any kind of visa for Canada and never to come back to Canada. Is this for real? I suppose I will be a single mother from here on out.

Wow, I am sad and sorry to hear this has happened...Is it possible for you two to think about and decide a BIGGER change and live together elsewhere?

To be honest I've thought about that but it's just not a reality right now. I think the next step is to get him a pardon and than re apply. I have a feeling that it's going to be a few more years

Oh no........ :'( never want to get a letter like that, so very sorry to hear this mizzdanish.......if you folks applied outland then of course you should be able to appeal and I've heard over 60% of cases are won on appeal. It sounds like you may need to get a lawyer involved now and there is also an appeal thread (which I see you found and PMM knows a lot btw). Did the letter actually say he could not appeal and did they give a reason? That does sound confusing and I would most certainly look into it further. I know this must be gut wrenching; however, just because you lost a battle does not mean you have lost the war. It sounds very fishy to me that they are not really sure about the refusal i.e. is it because they think the marriage is not genuine or the old assault charges? ??? I would definitely gear up to take them on over this. Sending special prayers of support your way for encouragement and strength for you and hubby.

It's best to find out why your huz cannot appeal and why he is told he should not try to get any Visa for Canada and to never come back... The 'never come back' sounds a little harsh and unprofessional wording. Are those the exact words that were used?

All the best to you and your family

Hey all, yes it does sound unprofessional lol I havnt received the copy of the letter yet so I was using hubby's words. I am going to get a lawyer this week to take a look at what can be done. I'm pretty sure a pardon is the next step but go figure Google doesn't have much to offer on the how to do that in Grenada lol
