LOL! I would be the same way. Hard to trust people with our valuables when we know they clearly can't be trusted and our trust has been broken.

You could take both to the interview and then leave the notarized copy with them. What hubby and I did was have the high commission here notarize the copy. It costs about GY$10,000.00 here. If it's a standard rate, it should be about TT$300.

They might not give too much trouble if it was already certified by them.

sorry hubby just told me that the rate dropped. It's now $6000 here so it should be between TT180 - TT190 if the rate is standard

I suppose you're right. But I don't exactly trust their "organizational" skills when they let my app sit and collect dust and only decided to call an interview to request the same info I've already given them when my MP put a fire under their @ ss. Trusting them with my irreplaceable original documents makes me uneasy to say the least, especially since I need them to have my hubby with me in my own country.

Gulp. Here's hoping they don't mess it up and "lose" my items.

Hi Miss D. Uneasiness, understood! I agree with millslu, take it with you and show them and let them know your concern about leaving it with them. They may just want to eyeball it to verify it exists and then they can tick the box on it. The other option would be to see if you and hubby can get another signed copy from the landlord as backup in case you need it.

I have read many stories on interviews where the applicants are asked to bring duplicate docs. (Dadzin same thing) and the visa officer either looks at it or sometimes doesn't. Again it does not always follow a logical pattern but maybe for CL files this is standard practice. Lol.... we all love those stories and I look forward to others as well. So grateful that I will have one to tell in 2013. Hubby has not submitted his PP yet as he was waiting his new one, his old one was going to expire this month and we never thought for a million years, he would get a request until next year. So.......now he is running around trying to expedite that, so he can go drop off all the items at the High Commission.

My nickname for my hubby is Pokey, as in slow like molasses.....It takes him much longer to do things than the average bear when it comes to anything resembling paperwork . He wanted to wait until I got there and I am like NO NO!!! We have to hurry......

Because I planned to be there with him anyway for the month of Nov. and if we want the option for us to fly back together I do not want POS making any mistakes or us getting too close to any deadlines on their end. However knowing my man, I am guessing it will still be something I have to do with him when I arrive. That's ok, he has so many skills and talents that I do not possess so we trade off.

Lastly we still have to decide if he will need a few more weeks after Nov. 30th to get his things in order. House, car, business and the many other things that might have to happen. So I am just trying to stay calm, cool and collected but it is HARD!!! We have been together for over 6 years and he has never even been here so I have to be patient and think, what if the shoe was on the other foot. I think he will just feel better when I am there as a second set of hands. But first we will have a bit of "other business" to tend too!! Blessings.
