Good evening to all! It's been a while. Just been browsing through messages. It's cold season and our daughter has had ear infections that don't seem to clear up. She has spent lots of time in my arms the last week.

We are still waiting for DM on our file. My husband dropped his PP off to the office in POS September 18 so 2 weeks is approaching. I hope the call to pick it up comes this week. I knew we wouldn't hear anything from POS before now because his exclusion order has just finished.

Louisfam... Huge congrats on the in process. Your PPR should be arriving shortly! Exciting times and so nice to finally see movement. The early 2013's may start hearing good news soon too. Hopefully POS stays on the roll.

Doc lady! PP is coming back soon. Did you address change to a Canadian address on ECAS? Let us know details whe you find out.

FAD... One step closer to the end. Your family is going to be together very soon.

KIAB we thought long and hard about adding additional proof to our file as well. It's hard to know what exactly goes on. Our file was transferred to POS early January and I sent additional proof in late April. The initial review of our file took place in May and you can see the additional documents were added to the file because the IO makes reference to that stuff. I had actually forgot to include beneficiary stuff and we had visited my husband so we submitted those documents. I (personally) would only send additional proof once if you thought it was needed. Don't leave anything to question, where you would say if only or I should have done this... I was really hoping to avoid an interview so this was my reasoning. Otherrwise I would collect everything and have it should they require. I don't think it can hurt your file and only you know the ins and outs of your application.

Welcome to our newest member QueenD! You're in the right spot so ask your questions away. We were all in your place once and know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed with the process. I would suggest focusing in your application and completing it and apply for TRV after. As Cndandtrini said it is unlikely (although not impossible) that your partner will get a VISA and especially since he has had a refusal previously. If things have changed and he can prove greater ties to Trinidad vs. Canada he may very well be one of the lucky ones. Many people on this forum have tried once, if not more, for TRV and have been denied. Keep your head high though and stay positive. Our application was submitted December 2012 and PP was requested nearly 2 weeks ago.

Cndandtrini always nice to see (read) your posts! Can-Vinc enjoyed reading your last post... Thanks for that! +1. Goodnight to everyone else. Take care of yourselves. Blessings!

Thanks behopeful :) I wasn't going to send anything right now was thinking after the new year cause I know the file is probably in the envelope it was sent in. I want to avoid having to wait for an interview as well thats my logic im not panicking or anything just dont want them to watse time asking avoidable questions. Just more pictures from the recent and xmas trip we planning, we opened an account want to include that, text messages, phone & skype logs things to show how our communication is.

Gotcha! Sign is all finished and ready to go!

Yes if we get a dog it will be small but it's a big decision!

His exclusion order was over yesterday. He confirmed his departure at Pearson September 29/2012, 2pm flight! Remember that day like it was yestersay. Hard to believe a year has passed. It feels like 2013 has been a complete blur actually...

Will you be travelling same day/ next day as soon as your get PP back? What will you miss the most about St Lucia?

Hi Behopeful, sorry to hear about your daughter's ears. My son used to have a lot of ear trouble when he was young and eventually had to have the tubes in and adenoids and tonsils out. I think it was all more traumatic for me than him :P. It's no fun for anyone when cold season starts. Even my hubby in the heat of Trinidad has a cold right now.

Nice post from you too my dear and I am so happy things are moving fast for you now. Have you and hubby planned the landing date yet? I think we all fantasize about that day in the airport when it finally happens.......looking forward to all of the POS landing stories. Blessings.

Am so wishing.we can do a thanksgiving landing dinner food drink.with family. Goodnight forum

I got a letter advising me that in order to finalize hubby's application, RPRF is required within 30 days. It came from CPC-Mississauga though weirdly enough.

Yeahhhhhh woohooo.....at least your application is going now, that is awesome! Such great news for you!

Hi my name is Queen

Just have a few questions about my husband and I are also inquiring about the Travel permit.

last time we were denied and the Embassy told my husband he could apply for a travel permit.
and that s what I am asking also if there is a way we can just apply for the travel permit instead of going through the whole travel visa application again?

I am asking cause I am going through the application process but I am pregnant and we want him here for the birth. I am very early in the pregnancy like only 6 weeks. please and thank you if anyone could answer it for me ?

Hmmm...sorry, I'm not familiar with a travel permit as being different from a TRV. Maybe do a search on the forum to see if anyone else has experience with this? Generally having a PR application in process does not change the requirements for entering the country (i.e. TRV), nor does being pregnant. I have seen several others in this situation and they all went through the TRV application, sadly most were denied. However, if the embassy told you something different, maybe get them to clarify?

Hi Queen,

Sorry to inform you that being pregnant does not guarantee TRV. I was in your position, wanting hubby here for the birth and it did not work. My baby is here now and still don't have hubby with me.

Hi Queen and further to Zouk's info. above, a TRP is a temporary resident permit, different from a TRV, temporary resident visa. A TRP is even more difficult to obtain than a TRV and is usually only used when a person is inadmissible for other reasons, like a criminal record or some other reason. Most of the time these would be issued at the Port of Entry (POE) when the person arrives in Canada pending the discretion of the border/immigration officer. You have to dig really deep to find out about TRPs in the CIC operation manuals. Unfortunately, as other posters have mentioned, both options have an incredibly low success rate.

Hi Queen:

i'm also aware of the same as Zouk and fromadistance. I think the only way to know might be to give it a try.
