Good evening family,

Thank you all so much for your well wishes :D Mr. Millslu and I are overwhelmed to say the least. I still can't believe it.
I want to share something with you all as I didn't share this last week.

After we received our GCM notes I was frustrated which is an understatement and concerned that our application was sitting and felt nothing was being done.
So Mr Millslu and I decided to execute plan "Z" which was contact our local MPs office.
So I researched it, found the email address and emailed my local MP.
I emailed him 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday night at midnight. Can u believe the MPs office contacted me the very next day on the phone. They said they wanted to help me and my husband. They said my local MP has several contacts with immigration and they want to advocate on our behalf (Jesus at work!)

They requested my husband give them consent to inquire about our file. So he sent them an email of consent. In 2 days, the local MP contacted me to say that they heard from POS and they were finalizing our application. But we waited to hear until we heard from them today (thank you Jesus!).

So, we sent them a small package today, with Passport photos, husbands passport, the paid landing fee receipt and a current police check in slu since my husband been in slu for over 6 months. I strongly recommend your spouse get a police check done a head of time so there are no delays....we paid the courier service and we sent it out this afternoon, we are not joking with this thing because we want to be reunited.

Again, thank you all so very much. Mr. Millslu said he will make an appearance, he was taking a break because this process was becoming very stressful on him. So I took over in his absence, hahahaha! ;) Blessings, I'm telling you don't give up because God is in FULL control!!!! Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your timeline?

hey CdnandTrini, how long would application status take to change? I meant if the status is 'application received' how long would it take for they to change the status?

Hi Anikish, it can take a very long time if you are referring to ecas. Many people do not see anything more than that (and medicals received) until their file is almost finished so it is not a very reliable indicator of progress. That does not mean though that your file is not being worked on. Most people send requests for their case notes to keep track of what POS is doing. Those are your GCMS (global case management system) notes that the visa officers update when they have worked on you file. However until you receive an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) that the applicant's part of the file has been received in POS, your notes will not even be created prior to that.

How long since you sent in your application?

Anybody seen missd yet am about to send a.search party out for her. Hey @zouk how long it took for your pasport to return i know it said 2-4 weeks how.long did your take.

How long since you sent in your application?

We were applied for since in 16 January 2009. We sent all documents to the person in canada that applies for my self and family.
We received a acknowledgement letter that states the UCI # and file # on the 11th February 2013. All other additional documents were requested and sent to canada since Mach 2012.

Ok...so this sounds like a family sponsorship by another family member, not just a spousal application then, correct? If so, that is why it is taking so long. Has your family member in Canada asked for the help of their local member of parliament (MP) yet? If not, they can and they should be able to make an inquiry on your behalf. Written consent must be provided to the MP however by your Canadian family member. Blessings.

It took 4 weeks, but having to wait on the med extension made it slightly more complicated. They're usually pretty good at getting it back in the 2-3 week time frame. When you send it in, include your travel itinerary and let them know when you need it back. If 2 weeks go by, send them urgent CSE's.
