Visa officers do not process applications in order of receipt as much as they claim that that they do. So it is a very high possibility that someone who applied after you may get PPR before you. Take for instance gigi. For me it is not a matter of who gets PPR first but just some indication that these people are working or even answering a damn email would be nice. And when I am hearing that stuff like criminality, security etc hasn't been started gives me no hope. Oh well I guess my husband will be in Canada when cows learn how to fly!! SMDH

Don't get me started on how some people wait a couple months and get their visa processed and some wait forever with no word... or I'm gonna end up at the doorstep of POS and ruin my chances of ever getting a visa lol. It drives me crazy! It's so unfair.

Anyway. Sigh.

I can't wait to be done with this office and hopefully never deal with them again.

Also, as for criminality not being started... don't necessarily go by the notes saying "not started." I read somewhere that when they send off your file for background criminality stuff, they don't change it to "started" all the time. Sometimes they send it and when it COMES BACK COMPLETED is when they change it to started and completed in your notes. Some people have said that it was all "not started" in their notes one month and the next month everything was done.. and they're not quite THAT fast.. so it's more likely they just don't put it in the notes right away (sometimes anyway. It's not like anything they do is consistent, so who knows).

I have my exam this weekend. After that I will have nothing to distract this annoyance that's building inside me. Pity help the person who has to read CSE's after this weekend. LOL

Morning MissD... Question for you and anyone else that wants to weigh in. Given that our files are awaiting review from a senior officer, will they continue on with security checks/ background checks in the mean time or does it wait for review, pass review and proceed to the next step?

Hope all goes well with the test! Is it a practical or written test? Good luck! You will do great.

Hi Behopeful,

How are you keeping???

Hi FAD!
We are surviving! Just trying to keep looking forward. I can't believe we are already nearing 8 months since the file was received. Planning a trip to Trinidad for October. Hoping it will be the last trip down before husband comes back home.
How are you? How is baby? She must be like 4 or 5 months now?

That's great you have something to look forward too as it will distract you a bit! Probably you will get to bring him back home with you to be home with u and your daughter. Do you find that you stalk ECAS and your emails??

Baby is fine, 4 months and acts like a 1 year old. She has been calm and quiet since we got back and hasn't been herself at all. She misses her daddy. Last night I put her on skype with him and you should hear the excitement in her voice when she saw him. My friend started to cry when she saw how the baby's demeanor changed when she saw her father. It was weird.
Can't stand POS for doing this to us ughhh

Security checks are started pretty early on in the process, so should be continuing/completed while you wait on the senior officer's review.

I wish he would be coming back home with us. I'm thinking he may come for Christmas or later... Praying for our daughters second birthday he will be here. It is killing him to miss all the special holidays. I was telling him how our daughter has been very clingy te last few days when I leave her (even with my mom). He was very quiet and just said she has a special connection with you and not me. I was lost for words. I know when he comes they will connect and when she sees him they are great but it still doesn't take away from the hurt and sadness he feels.

Whe did you come back?

YES I stalk my email and ECAS all the time. I check my email on my IPhone and it says the time... Sometimes 5 minutes has passed and I am checking it like 5 hours has passed. The time really drags and people don't understand. It's very much an obsession that I can't stop! At work I sometimes have to lock my phone in my desk so that I consciously have to think about checking the email. It's terrible!

Thanks Zouk! This makes me much happier!

^^ THIS! lol I did this for the first 6 months or so of my process and then stopped cuz I got annoyed. And now that I'm nearing what SHOULD be the end of this hell process, I'm doing it AGAIN lol. It's craziness.

@Behopeful, I agree with Zouk. I don't think they would wait for the security checks to start until the very end or else it would take even longer. So just because your notes don't say they're started, doesn't mean they really aren't... I mean, look at e-cas... They're not exactly... good... at updated anything.

My exam is a written (computer) boards licensing exam. It's my second to last one before I become an official doctor. I am writing board exams for both the USA and Canada so I always have the opportunity of practicing either place in the future after residency.. so I'm doing extra boards LOL. But almost done!

@fromadistance... It must be hard to see her miss her daddy like that. I feel so bad about this process for EVERYONE but especially bad when children are kept apart from their families for so long. Just think how happy she'll be when he's there every single day.

Well, I'm taking off now for the weekend to take my exam. I'll be back Sunday after it's all over to vent, I'm sure, since I'll no longer have a distractor! lol

Hope somebody hears SOMETHING this week.

It is very annoying, especially when NOTHING happens. And when I log into this website and I see how much time I have logged here, it's depressing because this website is part of my obsession too! And don't get me wrong... I love all of your company/ posts but I could make much better use of all this time!

It's unusual to go this long without any news from POS. I mean, we all have to wait individually, but at least there was always someone hearing something, just some sign of life. I can totally get why everyone is so frustrated! Immigration is like pregnancy - it's not knowing that drives you crazy. I guess the silence is due to the strike, hopefully they clear that up soon. Just keep reminding yourselves that you're closer to the end than to the beginning. It will happen soon, it has to! I personally am looking forward to everyone's PPR and landing stories...want to see who can beat us for drama ;D

Prayers for the success of your exam Miss D. Another long journey you have been on with the end nearly in sight.

FAD & Behopeful, you are both being strong, great role models for your daughters. Besides the obsessing thing ;D.....JK (we have all done that)

To everyone else, especially the 2012 folks, keep the faith. I sense that there will be a lot of movement in the fall months. Summer all over the world slows things down due to vacations, particularly in gov't offices. Sept. to Dec. are generally the times that things pick up administratively. Blessings!
