Hey Dadzin,

Medicals are valid for one year from the day they were done. So if she did her most recent medical on Jan 10, 2012, then it would expire on January 10, 2013. What date did she go to the doctor and get her most recent medical done?

CIC is now able to ask for an extension of medicals, if the medical is the ONLY thing they are waiting on to issue your visa. If there are other things still going on (eg. background checks, etc) then they cannot ask for an extension of medicals. So, for example, if your medical was supposed to expire in 2 weeks and CIC decided they were ready to issue your visa, they would extend your medicals so that they didn't expire in those last 2 weeks while they were giving you your physical visa.

She did medicals in May 2012...she did a partial medical before that.. (couldn't do the xray as she was pregnant) we had to wait until she had the baby...

When was the first partial part done? Jan 2012?

No, they only sent in the medical when she completed them in May...

Was everything except the X-ray done in January though? If it was, I would assume they are using that as the one year date for the expiration of the medicals. I think they don't pay attention to when they were sent, but when it was completed.

Or in your case Dadzin, when you started the medicals.

Somewhere in march...nothing was done in January...not sure where that date came from ...

If the partials were not done in January 2012, I have no idea where they got the expiry from. They would expire 1 year from the partials (March). It does not matter when they sent it in, it would be the date the doc wrote for the first partial on the medical exam that will be the determination of expiry.

Who knows what they were thinking lol.

The average time for people who GET an AOR from POS is 2 months, based on all the past applicants we have on record. However, not everyone gets an AOR and this is completely normal for the POS office. Sometimes they send them, sometimes they don't. But since they just sent your application back a couple weeks ago, you won't probably get an AOR (if at all) for another 2-6 weeks from now.

If you would like to send me your info, I will add you to our spreadsheet, where we keep track of everyone's progress so that we can look at it and judge how long processing takes, etc. You can find the spreadsheet by clicking the POS link at the bottom of my posts in my signature area (below my blue picture) and read about others.

If you would like to be added, please let me know:

1) When you applied to Mississauga (when you sent your app back the 2nd time, was it end of Dec or early Jan?)
2) What country the applicant is from in the caribbean

Also, if you want to share about your relationship or your application stories, we love to hear about them or give advice. Sorry you had to re-send in your application, that's not fun. But I hope you have fast processing! I will add you to the spreadsheet with the details I have..

@ Trini100,

I should have looked at your name before I asked what country the applicant was from, huh. I put it as Trinidad (just a guess lol)

PS: I just want to say that my lovely friend, Halfmoon, on the Kingston Jamaica thread is no longer a half-moon... she is now a full-moon!!

Her hubby got the request today to send his passport to get his PR visa and will soon be joining her in Canada. It has nothing to do with this thread, but she is a great gal and pops in here quite frequently (and is also my sounding board for emotional girly crying fits I have related to this process) and I'm super happy for her! ;D

Thought some of you in here that are fond of her would like to know!

Miss D!!! Thanks for all the love woman! You are simply the best and have helped so many in this thread. Because you are so giving of yourself, I know your day is around the corner!!

I'm here because I stopped off to get you a whole year's supply of kleenex. HEHE

Wishing everyone going through POS a speedy process and good news in the days ahead!!

From a distance where you at?

Thanks doll! I'm gonna fricken need it. A towel should do the trick, LOL. (Inside joke)

I've had so many different cries the last couple days:

Halfmoon got her PPR - SUPER HAPPY, loving cry
You didn't get your PPR - Super depressed, why-can't-I-be-one-of-the-miracle-cases-that-gets-through-in-5 mos cry
Halfmoon got her PPR, she so deserves it - happy cry!
This process is so hard - sad cry
Halfmoon got her PPR and so I probably will be happy like her some day in the future - Happy Cry!
Halfmoon will leave the forum and I'll have no one to cry with (nor does she have crying reasons anymore) - lonely cry

LOL. That's been my week since your news lol. So a towel it is. :-*

hey miss Dominica
i re-sent the application on december 27th and we got the reply letter on jan16th saying that the application was sent to pos, and yes my wife is trini and lives there currently, she got a visitors visa to come for christmas so she was here when they sent the application back to us. we were soo crushed, but quickly got everything they needed and fedex it back to them.

just have a question, my wife went back to trinidad last week, we want to apply for a visitors visa for around easter time..if my wife gets another 6 months visa does she need to stay in trinidad or can she stay in canada until she her sponsorship gets approved? does she need to go back to Trinidad for the interview??. ...i saw the spreadsheet amd have been looking at it since march of last year when i stumbled upon this forum u guys have a great thing going here thanks for all your quick responses and positive energy..

another question....whats the best way to call Trinidad from your cell?? i work night shift and my wife works day shift.. been using phone cards from Ontariophonecards.com was thinking of getting her magic jack ?? any other suggestions?

wanna wish everyone good luck and a good weekend
thanks alot guys
