Hey fromadistance! How you doin?

I actually sent a package to POS with proof of continuing contact (Skype, Facebook, BBM convos, phone bills, etc) in December (after they had it for about a month). I sent it so early because people that applied a month before me were getting contact from POS so I was afraid if I left it too late that they would not get it before they processed my application. The caveat is, though, that I waited until I got an AOR from POS because I wanted to have the NEW file number so they could match my new package with my old one easily (I labelled the new one with our names, DOB, and the NEW file number from the AOR that is specifically for the POS office). Once I had that, I sent away. So it's not that it's too early to send proof, you are just better off having that file number (I would not say it's 100% necessary though, as they could probably match up your files using other info).
Also, for my case it was more important than most cases to send additional proof of continued communication because we applied common-law (which is based on living together) and then I had to move back to Canada to finish school and wait for hubby. So it's a lot harder to prove that you're still a common-law couple when one person moves away than it is to be a married couple. Married couples, I would generalize to say, do not have to send in as much continued relationship proof as common-law couples who moved apart during the process (only because common-law is BASED off of living together). So if you guys are married, you don't have to rush off and send new documents unless you feel like your first application was lacking some. Otherwise, many people suggest you just keep saving up the proofs in case you are called for an interview and show it then and not waste time sending it now. It's all up to you, of course, every person feels differently about their application and has to decide what to send or do based on that feeling. As for sending it through CSE, no I didn't. I sent it in a package. In order to send a CSE, you kind of need your AOR from POS with the new file/client ID number. And even then, you can only send 3.5MB of proof at a time by uploading it. People who have sent a lot of proof this way had to do it in several separate CSE's and that generally annoy's the VO's to get that kind of thing. If you have one or two single documents that are important to be added to your file (eg tax return or marriage certificate or something) that would be something to send through CSE (or if they request something they need to finalize your application and you can easily upload it to the CSE to save time, then that maybe too). But sending lots of update info through CSE is probably not wise. I would just wait and mail it once you have your new file number :)

Thanks Moonie and millslu for the ego boost! You guys are too kind ;D.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I think I will wait couple months before sending anything to POS. We will be having some new developments in our case soon so I will wait till that happens to send them anything or just save it until a potential interview. I am very nervous in dealing with that office!!

well my lawyer said for me to send more stuff to strengthen the application and also to send the ARC and all monies owning to them so they not going to be asking for anything extra and hoping that we could even avoid a interview so we gave her more stuff, it was sent last week on the 15th and UPS said it would be delivered by the 18th. went on UPS site to track the package. would you believe it arrived on the 17th in POS and i have no idea what happened to it after that. so i called UPS around 3pm on the 18th and asked them what happen to my package and when is it going to be delivered, they told me at the end of the day, so i said to them if you realize that the visa office closes at 1pm on friday 18th. all they could tell me is they will deliver it by the end of the day. so moving forward am looking on the tracking and it still wasn't delivered and to make matter worst they removed the time it suppose to be delivered off the tracking information. you know what the bible say not to be anxious about anything but Murphy law said if something bad has to happen it will happen.rrrrr

That's frustrating. I'm sure it will get delivered today. Keep checking the tracking info.

@missdominica how did POS notify inlimbo and priestman about they interview was in e-cas or email or post? anybody know

@ millslu I received my interview request by email. Well I believe the reason y ure on the hook so much is for 2 reasons one CIC specificly said do not send any information unless requested by ur IO as it might cause delays in ur application. and why in the hell did u use a lawyer she is just gonna make u run for a buck its better off doing ur app urself as to when lawyers are used makes IO thinks ure hiding something or that ur marriage is not completely genuine. there is no need for one to use an attorney in a sponsorship. well that is my total comfort belief.

I know what you saying priestman but we did the application ourselves n we sent alot but my wife is a nervouse nervouse wreck so she got us a councellor who forced her to send more my wife was adamant on spending money n stress on that. Plus we had to send an ARC before thet ask fo it lol. But for some reason we sent the package last week n UPS cannot find the package weird huh. Sorry its not a lawyer but a councellor.

Hey everybody! I'm a newbie to this forum and I love it! So much positivity, support and encouragement! I just recently sent in the sponsorship application, received in Mississauga Nov 27/12. At this point, I have been approved to sponsor my hubby and it was transferred to POS Jan 4/13. The wait is crazy but we should all try not to be anxious and just have FAITH! God works for those who trust, have faith and believe in him fully.

Hello LouisFam,
