umm so if you in school how are you going to finish your school and go to canada at the same time, and why are you so want to do this when you quite busy with school, please explain lol

I'm already back in canada. I did my first 2 years in dominica, where I met my significant other and we moved in together. But we have to do our clinical years (licensing exams and clinical hospital clerkships) in canada and/or the usa. So I came back to canada to do clinicals to live and prepare to graduate next year. But I tell you, I miss coming home to my hubby every night to talk about my stressful day, eat together, relax. Its much harder without him here to support me emotionally every evening.

Kingston Ontario very nice, i know finding the right job is such a challenge, what does your husband do and will he have any problem gettin a job when he gets back? it actually not that bad raising a child in a condo, not one of those in downtown but more the complex type, its better than renting.

Maybe when your husband return yourll should really look into buying a condo could cost u around $250,000, do it fast prices are rising.

umm @missdomnica am confused are you waiting for landing or is your husband waiting?

I'm a canadian born citizen. Hubby is waiting. We are not legally married (although we consider ourselves as committed as a married couple). We are common-law (from when I lived in dominica with him). He has a lot of interests so will be happy with many job types, so I think he will be fine. He likes to work outside and especially likes construction, and I have family friends in the business. So I think he'll do great. He also is a very good cook and could work with something like that.

Millslu... Don't get me wrong condos are great, just not what I pictured for us. I would like my family to have a private backyard! We sold our condo in Toronto and am in the process of buying a house in Kingston! Another little bit of stress on top of everything!

I think it will take my husband a little time to adjust to Kingston but we will do it! We spent lots of time here and we like it. Job wise... Not sure what the market will be like for him in Kingston. I want him to upgrade his skills. We will figue it all out!

Do you know what type of work you are planning to do when you arrive? How was the move for your wife?

@missdominica you all sound very young, sounds like a great move for him and for you am guessing you missing him like crazy hence you so adamant on this site. am sure this is your month were you will hear something soon.

@behopefull a condo downtown is defiantly not a place to raise a kid but a house outside and in Kingston sounds like an amazing idea plus it would be cheaper as well. your husband will be fine there is so much opportunity here for him.

before they removed me i worked with best buy Canada, i am an I.T Technician, so my boss told me to contact him as soon as i return so am keeping my fingers cross.

Missdominica... Family physicians are always needed. And an obstetrical focus keeps it exciting. I am in te healthcare field as well. Worked in obstetrics for 5 yrs but switched to another area. Loved obstetrical care, but politics of being in the hospital setting were awful.

I grew up in the country outside of Kingston and we had a dairy farm. My husband said he needs to be in the city so kingston has been our compromise! Has your partner lived/ visited Canada?

Unfortunately not. We sent a boat-load of proof with a visitor visa app but were denied because they didn't think he would leave at the end of the visit. But I've told him a lot about canada and showed him a billion pictures. And he will be welcomed warmly. So I think he will adjust well.

:)

@missdominica does he need a visa to come to canada and how long did u stay in dominica with him? if you dont mind me asking

He does need one and they won't give him one to visit, so we're stuck waiting out the long haul. I lived with him for a year and a half but we dated before that. I miss him tons! Although we just took a little vacation together to antigua over the Xmas break.

I was in dominica for over 2 years. But I only lived with hubby for about 1.5 because I met him there and dated before we moved in together.
