Good day all. Hope everyone is enjoying their day & that all is well.
Thanks Bajeinwaiting
Landed at PIA on Tuesday 12th around 9.15pm.
Left home in BIM around 1.50 pm to catch my 3.45pm flight. My daughter's boyfriend drove myself and my grandson to the airport. On our way there we met my daughter to say my goodbyes. Was feeling a bit emotional as she is my only daughter, who also happens to be the last of my 3 children. I was always of the opinion that I would spend the rest of my days residing in Barbados, as I felt that I am now of the age that living abroad would no longer appeal to me.
Got to the airport & checked in. Checking in took a while longer than normal as I was travelling on a one way ticket and the young lady at check in informed me that the necessary checks were being made because of the one was ticket and me not having a visa counterfoil inserted in my passport.
Anyway, after all the checks were completed I got myself a few more $ at the airport bank and spent a few precious moments with my grandson. I then bade my mate and my daughter's boyfriend bye and made my way into departure.
The flight was fine, no problems and we landed a bit earlier than scheduled. I had already told the wife to pick me up at 10pm. Flight landed at 9.15pm. Immigration was as smooth as silk, just a few questions asked (normal things) Left immigration pick up bags and into customs. Informed the customs that I was landing, no questions asked, was just waved on through.
Got outside at 9.45, no wife, sat and waited. When she arrived she was so excited that she went to departures instead of arrivals, yes I laughed my head off. We greeted each other with the greatest of affection. Packed up the car and drove the 40 minutes or so to home.
When we reached, I was ushered to our room, what a great surprise. My wife had decorated our love nest with a huge welcome home banner and had a bottle of sparkling wine on ice waiting. We had dinner, lie on the couch and watched the rest of the ball game, had a shower and then went to bed. Let's say it was a very romantic nite.
Had to get up early in the morning, as we had to attend a graduation. After the graduation, we worked our way to different places of business to apply for my SIN, a bank account and get my UK licence transferred to an Ontario one. Will try for my OHIP registration tomorrow.
