Can anyone tell how how long after receiving the first letter with file number from Port of Spain office you would usually get another letter or call. My daughter's file was received August 31,2011 in POS. She received her first letter October 05,2011. Meds, police check and everything done, meds will expire in November ( yikes!!!! which starts today)

Thanks

Morning Forum!
It's the start of November. Hoping for many updates and many pprs coming from POS this month.

@ Sankaam I believe the processing time for your daughter is 18 mths. Applications can be completed before the 18 mths or after. Now is time to just sit and wait which is often very much so the hardest part. If her meds expire, she will get a medical request from POS and also a request to redo police clearances.

@ Mahinder76 Welcome to the Forum and best of luck through this long process

@ LDWaiting Bump! Bump! Bump! No updates from me. On a positive note, another day waiting is in fact another day closer to the end of this process.

Have a blessed day everyone. Muahhhhhhhhh!

Well its the start of another month.....I hope POS sends out those PPR's soon so many families can be together during the holiday season!!!

Good luck to everyone going through this long, tedious process....and always keep faith!!! ;)

A pleasant welcome to Mahinder. Here's hoping you have a successful journey.

*Puts away Colt Magnum .45* LOL. Yes, some spousal cases are also going through Ottawa, but that is because that office also serves as the backup office for visa offices located in countries experiencing civil/military disturbances. Currently that means Egypt (Cairo) and Syria (Damascus) only. There would be no need for cases from POS to go through there.

Lol. That makes sense...thanks for the clarification :)

Good morning everyone!!!

Let's hear some good news today!!! PPR's would be really nice!!!! (waiting 4 weeks since e-case updated to 'medicals received') Anyone has any experience on how long after a PPR should be issued???

Welcome Mahinder76...good morning to all. No updates here. Still waiting very impatiently!!
POS has now had our file for 1 whole year.

Morning Forum Members.

@ Mahinder76 Keeping good and patiently waiting for some correspondence from POS.

@ LDWaiting POS is so unpredictible. Just gotta wait or maybe you can send a CSE. Usually, they don't respond but you can give it a try. I looked at your timeline and it's similar to mines so hopefully our times are near. So far, I've had no E-Cas updates but reading through this forum it seems this is perfectly normal.

Have a great day everyone! xxx

@Can4Vincy I strongly feel your frustration. I'm slowly approaching my 1 mth mark too with everything expired and not even a word coming from that office. Wish we could just march up in CHC POS and tell them how we felt. It's time to get some movements on our files....Geesh!

I hear ya..we've done everything. Interview, backgrounds checks are done, new medical and submitted requested documents!
I've already sent CSE and they didnt respond, next is my MPs office.

@ Admirable, thank you for your response....Here is where Im getting frustrated/confused/nervous, although 'medicals have been received' his meds expired the end of October......WTF now!?!?!? lol ..... Just send us a letter or something if he needs new meds so we can just get them done.....this is NUTS!!!!! The Canadian immigration office told me althought his meds have expired, depending on if the process is finished or how close we are, the IO has the right to extend the meds...Im hoping this is true! If not, maybe a letter stating that new meds are required and his passport....waiting game is KILLING me!!!! >:(

Email your MP! When my hubby emailed his he said there' nothing he could because it was within processing times. That was within the 6 mth mark.

I'm not sure how POS handles medical redos. If we should wait on the request (which takes forever) or if we can take the initiative and do it without the request and send it in. I was under the impression IOs can only extend meds for inland sponsorships so I'm not sure. What I do know is that a visa will not be issued with an expired med.

It is frustrating to be waiting on POS when I see other VO complete files within 6 mths.

Soo...back from our MP's office and POS requested hubbys background and criminal checks in Feb. They said to please be advised that takes from 6 to 8 months. Now that time has come and gone so they're e-mailing them again!
