They usually dont have information available when u walk in. I would disregard what that person said, you got an ecas update, go by that.

Does POS usually update ecas when your file has been received or do I have to wait for the AOR to know ?

I have not received an AOR from POS. No E-Cas update either.

Some folks do receive updates and some don't.

This afternoon I sent POS a CSE.
Hoping to get a response! *fingers crossed*

Hi guys,

Do any of you know of anyone who was in the US illegal (didn't enter with a visa) and marry a Canadian citizen and got through? These cases are rear, i know, but was hoping to get some helpful answers. Thanks.

Sorry....I do not know of any. As you are a guyanese citizen, you will have to use the POS VO in Trinidad. The way you entered the US should not affect your spousal sponsorship. Make sure you submit enough evidence and document your relationship so the IO will see that you are in a genuine relationship.

Were you a minor or adult when you entered the U.S.?

Hi Admirable, thank you for replying. Yes i was a minor (17 yrs old) when i landed in the US.

Here's my situation, I'm living in the states for the last 8 yrs now. I came here with someone else visa (backtrack). I went back to high school, graduated and now i''m in college working on my BS in Social work with only a yr left to complete. I don't have a criminal record in the US or have any minor running with the law.

I met my boyfriend last August 2010 and we're engage and looking to get marry next yr.He's a Canadian by birth and lives in Montreal. He have a good job and don't have a criminal record. This will be the first marriage for both of us and we both don't have kids from any previous relationship.

We're in the process in contacting lawyers and we're told that our case will be handle in Port of Spain. We're scared if i get call for an interview and get deny, then i have to go back to Guyana, which we don't want.
