Hey that 48 hour reply was good! I think I am going to send a case inquiry tomorrow or tonight .... should i just say that i didnt receive aor 2?
Oh Shimps!! I didn't see this post, or all the others you guys wrote overnight.
Yes TDGuy, I really thinks its a good idea to submit an enquiry to the website. In reading the last set of comments I see that you applied last night. Did you do the general or the secure?
if you do the secure and provide all of your case number details it would help speed up the response as they would be able to look directly as your file.
As I noted in my last email, they have these tools available to us. Yes they say that you should only be inquiring if you don't get a response in the "appropriate time".
Seriously the way I see it, 'Fek it" the tool is there, if you feel its been a longer than usual time, no harm in asking. At the same time you don't want to do it too often. But check this - if you submit an enquiry, with all of your secure information, THEY MUST reply right? OK, even if they get upset, they MUST adhere to CIC email policy to response to a client in a reasonable amount of time (i think you said 17 weeks (i cant remember, or some krazy absurd time). LOL but I thought the same thing after I saw that time line, I was like SERIOUS WTFek WDMC? (i did genuinely get upset)
Any how, getting back to the point I was trying to make, they HAVE to response. So if you provided your secure details, they can get all mad they want, but its a genuine request from you. They don't know you from a hole in the wall, so they must pull up your file to see what's happening. Now what is the use in doing all that work, and not giving you anything back in return. In most cases Id' say they would just throw you some information to you to "shut you" up - and deh' done.
So good on you for submitting.
@AW - she is correct. When you talk smart, and use words of their business, they know you on your game,, and not some schupidee. At the same time, they will be alert to not leave out any details and provide you with an accurate update.
I would have provided dates of when you got the AOR1 from CIC, the notice of the the sponsor begin approved to proceed, and when they said they were submitting to POS for processing. then id simply say the following.
I would probably use the same "format" I see some of you use on here "AOR1 Date, AOR2 Date etc..."
"With the above dates, I would appreciate if you can assist in letting me know the status of my application. If there any additional information you may require, please feel free to let me know."
Again you're providing specifics, shows you on your game, know your sheit', and you just want to know what is happening. At the same time, they will be more than happy to see that you know what you are doing, you're providing the specific information they need (nothing more as it will confuse them), and you're not being an @SS-hole yelling and screaming.
Cheers
Ryan
PS: I hope you don't mind my long messages. My mind goes 100miles a min, and sometimes I forget and end up writing a long post.
