I would say that you are confirming receipt of your application as you haven't heard anything since the date of your sponsor approval.

I process credit applications for a living and we always get concerned when people use certain lingo that's not common to everyone...

Hey you guys, I sent the case specific inquiry and received a confirmatory email a few seconds later. The email said they would answer in a few weeks, however I believe that to be a template as Ryan clearly received his reply in 48 hours which is good. Is it just me or does it appear as though POS doesn't get many applications?

I don't think they get as many as the others... they seem to process much faster than Kingston... I had one friend through POS 6 months, my friend through KVO... 1.5 yes

I must say you are quite detailed in your posts! I like it...

And that is great, six months or less to go :)

ECAS is the system that you log into to check your application status.

AOR2 is an email or letter from Trinidad confirming receipt of your application.

Both Tdguy and I applied in November. My application was delayed but then I got an AOR2 and he didn't...

Both of us through the same visa office, same month, but two different processing ...

It's actually my birthday today, and I was telling people mother nature was going to disappoint me because it is always a snow storm for my birthday or incredibly cold weather... she is still on her game lol...

Well Well Ms AW,

I wish you a very Happy Birthday on this fine sunny, beautiful Canadian Thursday Morning (minus the fact that its -13 ded cel , with a -20 wind chill).

With this cold weather I've learnt to not complain, its apart of live in this beautiful country. I embrace it, really I do. I may not do it as often as I like, but I try to at-least go once to each season and do some snow boarding, snow-shoeing, skiing, and will this one is hard to believe, but I volunteer with a national youth organization, and get this we GO camping in this shieit (snow and all).

Anyhow, thanks for the explanation. In working in IT, and always having to cover my butt against the client, I've learn the hard way to keep things clear and concise. Also being ADHD things need to be organized or i get stupid. Hence the 2500 pages of documentation and separated by months etc....

In regards to you and Tdguy, have you contacted the PSPAN via email, OR the secure on-line information request form?
I mean it doesn't hurt to enquire. I don't know about you guys, but l was taught to be scared of authority, especially immigration. Begin a second gen Can Citizen, and having gone through this in the 88-2005 (and 20 other family members who live in US), we've always kept that distance from authority and CIC.

The way I see it fk (pardon my lang) it! there's a difference in begin belligerent and getting your application denied, or getting a hard time during the process, AND THEN THERE IS being polite, inquisitive, being on top of your game and getting the information you need.

In the email I sent to PSPAIN, I simply asked for an update. I didn't demand it, or direct with a negative connotation, but simply let them feel they had the upper hand, and provided my inquiry.

Do you think contacting PSPAN would help you guys?

Oh Shimps!! I didn't see this post, or all the others you guys wrote overnight.

Yes TDGuy, I really thinks its a good idea to submit an enquiry to the website. In reading the last set of comments I see that you applied last night. Did you do the general or the secure?
if you do the secure and provide all of your case number details it would help speed up the response as they would be able to look directly as your file.

As I noted in my last email, they have these tools available to us. Yes they say that you should only be inquiring if you don't get a response in the "appropriate time".

Seriously the way I see it, 'Fek it" the tool is there, if you feel its been a longer than usual time, no harm in asking. At the same time you don't want to do it too often. But check this - if you submit an enquiry, with all of your secure information, THEY MUST reply right? OK, even if they get upset, they MUST adhere to CIC email policy to response to a client in a reasonable amount of time (i think you said 17 weeks (i cant remember, or some krazy absurd time). LOL but I thought the same thing after I saw that time line, I was like SERIOUS WTFek WDMC? (i did genuinely get upset)

Any how, getting back to the point I was trying to make, they HAVE to response. So if you provided your secure details, they can get all mad they want, but its a genuine request from you. They don't know you from a hole in the wall, so they must pull up your file to see what's happening. Now what is the use in doing all that work, and not giving you anything back in return. In most cases Id' say they would just throw you some information to you to "shut you" up - and deh' done.

So good on you for submitting.

@AW - she is correct. When you talk smart, and use words of their business, they know you on your game,, and not some schupidee. At the same time, they will be alert to not leave out any details and provide you with an accurate update.

I would have provided dates of when you got the AOR1 from CIC, the notice of the the sponsor begin approved to proceed, and when they said they were submitting to POS for processing. then id simply say the following.

I would probably use the same "format" I see some of you use on here "AOR1 Date, AOR2 Date etc..."
"With the above dates, I would appreciate if you can assist in letting me know the status of my application. If there any additional information you may require, please feel free to let me know."

Again you're providing specifics, shows you on your game, know your sheit', and you just want to know what is happening. At the same time, they will be more than happy to see that you know what you are doing, you're providing the specific information they need (nothing more as it will confuse them), and you're not being an @SS-hole yelling and screaming.

Cheers

Ryan

PS: I hope you don't mind my long messages. My mind goes 100miles a min, and sometimes I forget and end up writing a long post.

That email you received is a generic one, everyone gets it (including me)

Nah, I wouldn't upload any additional information. If the app is in POS, let them do their work, yes it may take time, you will be impatience (just like I am). But you don't want to submit any additional details than what they already have. If they want more they will ask, or call for an interview.

Its unfortunate, but if you did want to tell them about your Wife's Xmas trip, then in your initial letter to immigration with your application I would have laid it out then. Let them know the past, the present, and future. Even through it didn't happen yet, this is your plan to continue with your life "we plan to do x on so so date, if you have receipts, dates, tickets provide it in that letter. Im not trying to rain on your parade, don't get me wrong. Honestly you did all you can at the beginning to the best of your ability, don't look back now. Its out of your hand, let them do their work, and we just have to wait patiently (easily said than done).

Its funny how we does think of these things after the fact, and not up front. You know how much things I does think back about my app, and that i could have, should have etc...Trust your gut, and the work you did on that app.

Im the least to be patient. But I have no choice. Since last week, I've been brain storming ways to try and expedite my paper work. Thinking some of the krazies things (which im sure some of you guys do the same). LOL from bribe, to finding out if ppl know ppl, I even called up some family members who work in different ministries in TT, and to all kinds of other schupidness.

My line was "somebody MUST know somebody, that know somebody in the High Commission".

Anyhow, you did what you had to do. Its out of your hands, "lock back and come back" realx, and let time do its thing.

Cheers,

Ryan

I changed my address through the process. It took them months to change it on ecas but if you need it - the link is below.
You will get an automated email after you complete the form.

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?app=coa&_ga=1.186630432.802081835.1415801722
This is just a thought...
Alternatively to changing the mailing address on ecas , can it not be done at the post office?

I may be thinking too highly of the TT Postal service (at least they do that here in Canada,), but do they have a forwarding of mail system?
If it takes months and possibly delay mail deliveray to you (wrong address etc...) let the PS forward it to the secure mail box.

Again, just brain storming...

I noticed alot of people last year got processed in less than 6 months etc that really good. Im hoping wifey and I get it quickly as well, I hope age difference isnt a huge deal that they have to slow down ours. All the best to those of you who are waiting ! PPR next week fingers crossed....

I've heard the same (2 ppl), and know a couple who did in less than 6 month. Their scenario, is that they got married in TT, and submitted their APP in TT with the TT spouse in TT.
[this is a day time forum, I need to stop talking about TTs]

ANNNY!how

Some of us are not in that situation, or have red-flags, and it "usually" takes longer *sigh*

Hey anxiouswifey, I would say that the timing varies and not the same for everyone. See my timeline below:-

April 22, 2015: CIC Trinidad email and informed me they rec'd my application
May 8, 2015: My application status page was updated stating " They started processing"
May 11, 2015: Got an email requesting additional information.
Hey DSM.

If you received your AOR2 in April 22, when did you get the AOR1 (approval of sponsor, and the APP was being pushed to TT)?
I'm trying to gage the timing, as I just got my AOR1 last week, and its on its way to TT for processing.

Im hearing ~3 months for AOR2.

Thanks
