Your meds were within the 15 month window when they extended them. Ours are past the extension deadline and theyare supposedly not supposed to extend until they have made a final decision (ie after interview). So they have likely not extended and cant now that its past 15 months.

@Behopeful, yes you can do medicals almost anywhere IF the doc will agree. Some wont if app is in process without a letter from Vo.

Just curious as to why they make u do one and not the other. Weird

Well, well, well. My ol' friend Dadzin. Wanna get together in POS and have a major *censored word*-about-POS fest?

I have a similar situation to Dadzin. After months of hearing nothing from POS and being ignored continuously, while people who applied after me heard news on their application, I decided it was time to get my MP involved. She replied almost immediately and contacted POS the same day. Hours later, I receive an email from POS requesting an interview - October 24. The day before Dadzin. I agree, that if I hadn't gotten my MP involved, POS would have been happy to let my application rot without a thought about me or hubby at all. I was rather pi**ed off to say the least.

There had been nothing in my notes, however, about an interview. My MP told me that the only "little red flag" that the officer she spoke to could see on our file was that "additional proof of co-habitiation is required" since we applied common-law.

I'm a little lost for what else they expect from us, but I spoke to my landlady (at the time we lived together) and she has offered to write a letter on our behalf. With our original application, we included copies of our lease with both of our names on it showing we lived together for over a year, monthly rent receipts in both our names (over a years worth). We did not have any bills or anything because they are included in our rent (which I stated in the application and is clearly stated on our lease itself) and our apartment was furnished (hence no purchasing of items together for the apartment because they were already present). We also submitted a letter from our landlord the first time stating we lived together.

This time we are going to submit a new letter from our landlord with her stating that everything is included in our apartment (hence no bills) and she is going to get it signed by a Justice of Peace to prove its her. Her husband and our neighbour at the time are also going to submit letters that we lived together for that amount of time. I'm not sure what else to provide, given that we submitted TONS of letters and leases/receipts when we applied and they want additional proof.. what else IS there in a situation like this!? We submitted a couple pieces of mail (in each of our names) to the same address, but I didn't get much mail there because I was a student and all my bills went to my address in Canada and there were no bills, etc to arrive at the apartment (as above). So there were only a couple of those.

Anyway, so we've heard as well. Maybe not what we had hoped for, but news none-the-less. Thank goodness for MP's though, because as Dadzin said, these people are not held responsible for anything and who knows how long both of us would have wondered how our application was processing, when clearly it "wasn't" processing AT ALL.

@ Zouk, liquor request approved! lol

and I LITERALLY LOL'd at the IV of alcohol. Great minds think alike.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me lately.. I've been having a terrible time with all of this. I'm not happy about being called for an interview to provide the same proof again to these people.. but I'm happier to do that and be with hubby sooner instead of waiting and waiting while no one does anything (unless pressured by an MP, of course).
Congratulations MissD & Dadzin its a step in the right direction for both of you

Hey Folks,

It's been a while- I have some news...

So our application is now processing 20 months and we didn't hear anything after contacting CIC on numerous occasions. The case notes showed that the officer determined an interview was required July 2012...and 15 months later NO INTERVIEW DATE. I waitied patiently. I contacted my MP September 25, who responded in 2 days! and got a response from POS in about 2 days as well. POS lied and told my MP that the it was July 2013 an interview was determined when the GCMS clearly indicated that July 2012 this was done. I was enraged...my MP said we will just have to wait for the date according to what they sent to the MP. I started writing to the Minister of Cit & Imm when I see 2 emails pop in from POS with interview and docs required!!! Oct 25 is the date! Can you imagine these people though? All this time processing but only when my MP sends a note you lie then quickly give a date. That's because visa offices are not accountable to the people and do as they please when they please.

SO that's some good news guys!!!!! Hang in rest of ya!!!!!
Dadzin, nice of you to stop by!!! How are the wife and kids? I guess you have your hands full (in a good way :D). Better that you are in T&T right now so you do not have to pay for all of those flights back and forth. Pretty annoying about the mess POS has made in your process though regarding the interview. Why would they need to interview a couple with your history and 2 kids? And after so long? I am glad that things are moving though so at least the immigration ride will soon be over. Blessings for your interview and landing.

Miss D. congrats on hearing this mixed blessing like Dadzin. Great that there is movement, annoying that there has to even be an interview and the messy process. I agree with Behopeful in getting your MP to also clarify about the medical. If POS was on the ball, all of this should have been in the GCMS notes..........BUT the good news is that you may have hubby home for Christmas!!! Happy dance for all of the 2012 folks :p!!

If you have your TRV refusal(s), also include those in with the additional proofs. Again, back to Behopeful's point about both you and hubby being students and trying to be together, but how could you have continued any co-habitation with all of the extenuating circumstances? So on Oct. 24, 2013 there will be some VICTORIES being celebrated in POS........a mini COPR carnival. Blessings.

Congrats Miss Dca and Dazdin! So happy you guys finally heard something and are moving along!

@Miss Dca, I agree with bringing in all your TRV refusals as proof of your attempts to be together. Regarding your ongoing communication documents, really focus in on anything that shows growth in your relationship since being apart and anything showing continued plans for the future. What they really like to see is that your relationship continues to build and grow while you await your PR approval, vs. one that appears to be on hold or worse yet drifting apart pending PR.

Best of luck to you both!

Oh yeah...about the medicals, it's just their process to wait until you've been approved before requesting new ones. You could try to see if the MD in Dominica will redo them without instruction from POS, but they may not (they had told us they need some form from POS in order to properly link it to the file).

No medicals requested from us either...only new background check, 4 photos for my dtr, docs showing proof of our relationship...My wife and I have been together since most of the time since we got married, we don't have letters and stuff..who does that anymore...we have joint account...apartment lease...gosh...I also have letters from our church, parents, and relatives attesting to our marriage...

My wife has also been living in Canada with me...4-6 months at a time...would they frown upon that? Should we emphasize that?

As they say in Guyana, " dey tek dey eyes and pass yuh!" This process can be so demeaning to and disrespectful. Anywho, faith testing times like this we have to thank God for small mercies. At least something is being done. They most likely will just be asking silly questions about your relationship. I'm sure everyone will be praying for your success :).

You know some of you in this forum really have a lot of knowledge on this immigration process, more than some immigration lawyers I know. Hubby and I agreed that you could open a consultancy. Every time I read the forum, i am always impressed by extent of knowledge and suggestions that is put forward ( I myself, not really knowing much, other than the general process.)
