My app was received in Mississauga on August 13, 2012, so I have been waiting about 5.5 months. Yours is longer because your application was in Mississauga longer. Our apps have the same approximate timeline, however, because they both arrived in POS around the same time and thus POS has been working on them (or staring at them, unopened lol) for the same amount of time lol.

hey missd what part of Canada are you from, am in Brampton more less Bolton area or Caledonia whatever you want to call it.

so how did the letter for an interview look like @bajan246 that is if u got an interview.

i got this email first ; This refers to the application for permanent residence in Canada for your spouse

This case would be finalized within the next few days and your spouse's Permanent Residence document will be issued.

In the meantime can you ask your spouse to make arrangements with a local courier company (FEDEX or DHL) for the shipment of his documents from our office to him; he also needs to provide us with the appropriate address and phone number where we should be sending his documents.

The courier company would usually provide an account number, so this can be provided to us via email along with the other requested information. We await your reply.
today my online status change; A decision has been made on .......... application. The office will contact ........ concerning this decision

The interview request will say something like

"Dear Mr/Ms X. This letter is regarding your Permanent Residence application at our office in X. We have decided to invite you to attend an interview on X date. Please bring with you your passport, proof of relationship, birth certificate, etc"

They will ask different people to bring different things, depending on what you've already sent. They don't tell you why you have an interview, just that you do have one and the date to show up.

PS: I just want to say that my lovely friend, Halfmoon, on the Kingston Jamaica thread is no longer a half-moon... she is now a full-moon!!

Her hubby got the request today to send his passport to get his PR visa and will soon be joining her in Canada. It has nothing to do with this thread, but she is a great gal and pops in here quite frequently (and is also my sounding board for emotional girly crying fits I have related to this process) and I'm super happy for her! ;D

Thought some of you in here that are fond of her would like to know!

A few people on one of the casual (ie. not immigration related, mostly joking around) threads (mostly Trinidad applicants) were talking about meeting up. I think it's a great idea!
