So glad I am not alone in checking the application on a daily basis! We are only a month into this, too, so I will be checking a lot! I must say I don't check as often now that I'm back to work and don't have as much time.

Just a question for Millslu... And maybe you won't feel comfortable answering. I saw you posted you sent your application in June 2012 and were deported in December. I am assuming this is December 2012. I am also assuming you filed inland in June (maybe not though) but if you did file inland and you are now outland, will that impact your application?? Just asking solely out of curiosity and you may not feel comfortable explaining your situation any further... And I've assumed a few things! Wishing you and your wife all the best! I keep telling myself every morning when I wake up, every day is one day closer to me being with my husband and my baby girl being with her father again!!

One other question for the group... We did my husbands medical in Trinidad (his home country) in December and the medical office said everything would be sent to Canada. Will I get notification it was received by the office?? Just worrying about something else!! LOL

You won't get notification in any official way. They may update your e-cas to state "medicals received" but that can take awhile. So don't expect to hear anything from any actual office.

oh wow the thread is lighting up, well i have no problem answering any questions, we went through so much lawyer trust me most if not all are crooks and to think our next career would be immigration lawyer or councellors but to answer your qesstion i filed out land cause i knew i was going to get deported i just didn't know when actually they took almost a year to deport me, so my lawyer told me to file out land, if i filed inland and they deported me i will have to file again. but when i did that would u believe what happen, omg when it was time for deporting me the officer told me he notice i have an application and he is not going to deport me and he is going to fast track my file in 60 days... you want to know what happen next.. he made a mistake and notice that my application was outbound so he said since its outbound he have to deport me, i was like wtf... so you see my delema here two lawyers in the same firm one told me to do it inside and i wont get deported the other told me no things change and u will still get deported so do outbound. so everyone tell me what you think about that. if i did it inland i would have not gotten deported and my file was going to be fast track to me. so that where i am now. today my lawyer sent another package to POS to strengthen my Application and to make sure everything is there and they wont have to ask for anything.

Have you tried logging in to ECAS since approval? Mine says application received and medicals received. What does yours say?

I am assuming POS matched my medicals to the file? Not sure how it works

Well mine got updated to meds received around 4 days after it was transferred to POS.

Oh wow Millslu. Crazy story! Our lawyer told us that if we filed inland and my husband was removed it would cancel the application and that is why I asked if it would have an impact! For this reason my husband turned himself into CBSA and was removed from Canada. We filed Outland! I guess no one really has straight forward answers thus people/ lawyers go on past experience!

Thank you to everyone that responded to my other question. I have checked online. Nothing yet. Received sponsor approval January 11 and file was being transferred. So will keep on looking! Thank you!!

Miss Dca you keep commenting on how quiet our little thread is n yes that's true lol but...at least we don't have all the bacchanal that some of the more active ones do! I'd take quiet n genuine support over busy chaos any day

I know how hard the wait is and despite our better judgement, we ALL at some point try to figure out our "place in line", it's only natural. But as smokie said, there are so many variables, it's almost impossible to pin down a time frame. Background checks are probably the biggest factor in delays and unfortunately also the step we are given the least information about. Just keep reminding yourself that this yr of stress is nothing compared to a lifetime with your family and it'll fly by sooner than u think!

@behopefull the outbound application has more advantages..if u get denied u can appeal, also it is much faster than inbound to name a few advantage, if u did inbound and get deported you have to start all over again, but sometiimes you get an officer who would use his discretion

@behopeful i remember when we applied in June 27th 2012 they received the application sent an email to my wife saying she has been approved as a sponsor, then a few days ago my wife calls me from work all excited but confused, she went on e-cas and put in her imm number or UFI and saw application received and DECISION MADE i think we freaked. out not knowing what that meant, then i explain to her that it wasn't decision for the applicant but for the sponsor, and hense on everything after that was so confusing, then the file was transferred Sept 14th 2012 to POS we got a letter for that as well, lol and the funny thing in November we get mail in the post office telling us our application was received June 27th 2012, so again after we was so confused, that letter sealed the deal on our confusion, at that point i gave up wondering or caring what immigration Canada does, my wife is the hysterical one. Me right now am just looking for answers to help my wife cope I really don't want her to have a nervous breakdown don't know what I will do to myself if anything happens to her, I know life will go on but i don't know how it will go on for me without her in my life.

But everyone out there I notice that your ll faith in god is tight keep it up god has a purpose and plan for everyone of yourll leave it in his hands trust in him believe in him and he will show you that all this.. will be for a good course. god bless you all as we wait patiently. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

They have been known to call, e-mail, and/or send regular mail. I think it depends on the officer, honestly, because there is no consistent pattern. E-cas can be updated, but POS would ALSO contact you if it was something important (like they need more documents or to request you passport...). They will not request anything from you through E-cas, that's just there to monitor your own progress (and it's not always accurate). If they need something, they will call/email/or send you a letter..

The 2012 part is up to date for sure, with the exception of Marlon who had an interview but we have yet to hear the outcome. As for the 2011 people, there are a few people that are sadly still waiting to hear from POS at the same stage we are. I can't imagine how hard that would be. I assume for some people from 2011 and earlier that are missing information and we never knew what happened to them, they either 1) got their visa and did not need to forum anymore and had no need to come on here, so we never heard from them again, or 2) got rejected and did not feel like coming on here to announce it, or 3) just decided part way through the process that they were not going to post here anymore so we will never know one way or the other if they got a visa. But, the scary part is, that yes, some of those people are still waiting... :-X

@missdominica why are you even on that list or even entertaining that list, most of the people there are not filling the same place you are filling which is POS should you find a spreadsheet with ppl in a common ground like this thread with everyone filing in POS? am just wondering
