I don't know how some from the US are saying they are here on a Visitor Visa. US citizens are visa-exempt. They may have gave you a stamp but that isn't a visa either. And you may have gotten a visitor record (document telling you how long you can stay and sometimes given for less than 6 months) and you also may have applied and got approved for a visitor extension but once again those aren't visa's either. Anyway, I just needed to clear that bit up.
I came with my hubby while he was going back home to Canada after visiting me for 4 months in the US. We came here in March 2009 and I have been staying on extensions ever since. So been "visiting" for going on 2 years soon. It isn't horrible, just wish I could start helping pay the bills and miss my family at times. Other than that I love every minute I have with my husband and have been very blessed thus far. I hope I get AIP soon so we can permanently start settling in. We have so many plans for out future that we would like to actively start doing soon.
P.S. When I came in March 2009 I was given a visitor record limiting my stay to 4 1/2 months, applied for extension which was approved for 6 months, applied for another extension and that was approved for 6 months too. Mailed off application with OWP before status expired so I would have implied status while I wait for AIP.
