So does anyone have clue as to what each party's stance is on immigration (specifically family class sponsorship)? I know that NDP and Liberals are talking about wanting to speed up sponsorship of parents/grandparents, but I haven't heard anything about what the Conservatives are planning on doing. This is important to know because whether you support them or not, the Converatives are probably going to win this one. The only thing that's going to be different from last year is that even if they do win, they'll most likely will not be a majority government.

I wouldn't be so sure Conservatives are going to win this one, the current predictions show NDP to be in a leading position. The bad thing is, there is pronounced right (Harper) and ambiguous left, with Liberal Trudeau and Mulcair that sits more centrally, which actually happens to appeal to a lot of Canadians. The only way Harper is going to win, is through the latter two (left) candidates stealing votes from each other.
An interesting thing happened to a lot of Warsaw applicants this week, which made me think that Conservatives are really trying hard to improve their numbers before the elections. The waiting times posted in CIC's website for Warsaw state the 13 month processing time for PR, with a median of 10 months of waiting experienced by users of this forum going through Warsaw VO. Now for the interesting part: all of a sudden, about 10 users going through the PR process got their passport requests yesterday, with several users waiting for no longer than 4 months (since the application was sent to CPC-Mississauga) It's not a definite answer yet, visas have not been yet issued; but this strange spike in productivity makes me think that the quick processing has something to do with the upcoming election. Which is great for me, but at the same time I would hate to play a part in Harper's re-election.

Yeah, I've also heard of applications being processed faster due to elections, but I'm pretty sure this won't continue after the elections are over and done with. Still, I'm wondering what the conservatives have up their sleeve regarding family class sponsorships. Are they going to speed up the process, or slow it down?
