No worries about the criminal record check. At least from my experience, there have been no problems unless they get suspicious about you for some reason. I did my 1st criminal record check in March 2014 (+certified translation to English); I did my 2nd criminal record check in September 2014...

Is one of the parents a Canadian citizen? Thyobear, of course your child needs to have chinese citizenship. How else are they going to identify your baby? You also need to bring it to Canada, which is going to require a passport, and to get a passport you need to be country's citizen.

From what I understand, you have to have valid medicals to be able to enter Canada...They will not issue a visa unless your medicals are valid and you are able to travel (land in Canada) before they expire. I am in the same situation as you, with regards to expired medical.

Not true. The sponsored spouse is the only on that needs medical and there is no requirement saying you need to be with her during the examination, only if for religious reasons, or when she wouldn't be able to communicate affectively with the panel physician.

I think Sziha meant that she got 2 options in her e-mail from CIC: 1. Bring her passport+2 photos to the Canadian Embassy in Warsaw 2. Send copies of her passport to CPC- Ottawa, in case she was currently in Canada (that's the option she chose)
