Police Verification through PSK for Spousal Sponsorship route

Dear All

I am a Canadian PR trying to bring my spouse to Canada through Spousal Sponsorship route. In order to obtain police verification report from her home country (India), she booked an appointment with Passport Seva Kendra. The Assistant Passport Officer at PSK asked her for Canadian visa letter or invitation from spouse (myself) to issue PCC. Unlike in Express Entry route, my spouse doesn't get Invitation to Apply letter from CIC which could be used to obtain PCC from PSK, rather I have to provide an invitation letter to CIC to bring her into Canada. Should I submit that same letter in PSK to obtain PCC ? Has anyone obtained PCC from PSK for spousal sponsorship route ? Kindly share your experience and guide me through the steps.

Hi I am in the same boat as yours, PSK is asking for an invitation letter for my spouse, which she doesn't have as she is applying through family class. Did your wife get PCC?

This is weird. We did that for my wife at the Chandigarh PSK and no questions asked. All they needed to see was her ID's and we booked an appointment online. Police verification was done the week after and we got our PCC in 12 days total.
