Hi Hector,

Are you in Canada or outside?
Did you do a wire?
did you do this:

How or where do I obtain one?
If you live in Colombia (both nationals and non-nationals)
Once you have submitted an application to the visa office, the visa office processing your case will provide instructions to you on how to obtain the background verifications certificate.
If you live outside Colombia
The easiest way to obtain a background verifications certificate from outside Colombia is to ask a person living in Colombia to request the certificate on your behalf, following the instructions sent to you by the visa office.
You can also request the certificate yourself by following these instructions:
You must pay a processing fee of the equivalent of COP$60.000 at the current exchange rate per person, to be deposited to:
Intermediary Bank: BANCO INTERMEDIARIO CITIBANK N.A.
Swift Code: CITIUS33
ABA Code: 021000089
CHIPS Code: 0008
Beneficiary Bank: BANCO DE OCCIDENTE
Banco de Occidente Swift Code: OCCICOBC
Account No.: 10950229
Final Beneficiary Name: RISK MANAGEMENT COLOMBIA S.A.
Final Beneficiary Account No.: 223005463
You will receive a deposit slip as proof of payment. There should be one deposit slip per person.
Once you have made the deposit, you must send a scanned copy of the deposit slip to: aplicantes@procesosec.com
You must also submit the following information to the bank:
• For Colombian nationals:
the applicant’s full name, National Identity Card Number (Cédula de Ciudadanía), visa file number, and the name of the visa office that is processing the application.
• For non-Colombian nationals:
the applicant’s full name, Colombian Foreign Resident Identity Card Number (Cédula de Extranjería) or passport number, visa file number, and the name of the visa office that is processing the application.
• If a payment is made for several applicants:
a list with the names, identity document numbers, and a copy of the deposit slips for each person.
A copy of the deposit slip together with the applicant information listed above must be scanned and sent by e-mail directly to the visa office processing your case. The e-mail title must state “Background verifications” and the name of the visa office that is processing the immigration application.
The response will be sent directly to the CIC office processing your application. Please ensure that the name of the visa office is included on the payment slip as per instructions.
Please note:
• If your documents are not in French or English, a certified (notarized) translation must be submitted with a copy of the original version.

• Original documents must be received by mail. Notarized documents are not acceptable in lieu of original documents.
The above information/documents must be received in our office within 60 days from the date of this letter. Please return a copy of this letter and the requested information or document(s) by mail to:

Hi everyone

I'm having major issues with the police certificate and I hope you can help me. I am applying within Canada. I received the request from CIO Sydney, Nova Scoatia to send in my Police Certificate from Colombia. I received the same instructions that you guys posted above (Banco de Occidente, etc). I went to Bank of Montreal to wire the money, and 5 months later the money was returned because the "account number was wrong". However I checked (triple checked) and all the information is correct. In any case, I need to pay the fee again, but I would like to have someone in Colombia pay for me. Does anyone have the instructions as to how an applicant in Canada needs to pay for the police certificate within Colombia?

Also.... (1) did you translate the payment slip in order to email it? AND (2) did you mail an original copy to CIO, Sydney, Nova Scotia?

Thank you!

Hi Guys,

Have any of you solved this issue? I asked some relatives in Colombia back in June to pay for us at the bank. We sent the email to aplicantes@procesosec.com and we have not got any reply since then or notification at all that they received our request. We got Today a second notification from CIC to send our background verification but we requested that more than 2 months ago and nothing yet. A Friend of mine called g4s Risk Management in Bogota and they said to ask the embassy because they cannot give any information and when asked about how long do they take to process the requests they had her on the phone for 30 minutes without giving her an answer.

Thanks

I had the same situation last year and unfortunately my permanent residence application got refused because they never sent the police certificate to nova scoatia. I followed all their instructions on the web-site. I applied again, but i'm afraid the same situation its gonna happen again.
