Hi All,

Anyone has idea what is the processing time for PCC from India? I applied on 23rd November and the status is still Processing at the Consulate.

My application is due in 20 days. Is there a chance it might get delayed. I have a normal passport, no tatkal and my home address is Mumbai.

If it gets delayed, what can be done about my invitation?

Processing time depends on how fast Consulate receive clearance from your regional police station (Mumbai).

If you have only 20 days, I would suggest to start preparing a Letter of Explanation, indicating the delays, and submitting the BLS receipts.

It took almost weeks for mine to come back. I applied on 22nd October and got it back in the week that started on 14th Nov.

There's an escalation form on their website. Maybe you can try that.

Thank you guys.

Anyone has any idea what are the changes in application status? Does it just stay processing at consulate and then back to BLS or it tells you when they are waiting for approval from Mumbai?

No. Unfortunately not. It will stay "Processing at Consulate" all the time, until your passport is returned to BLS. Then it will say Mailed to address.

I applied on 21st oct. got on 25th Nov. So wait for more days or weeks.

When I inquired 1 week back, they mentioned the processing time is 3 to 4 weeks and we have to submit original passports as well.

So I can just submit the application with a letter of explanation saying I will send it in a few days?

Mention in the letter that due to delays at Regional Police Station, Police Clearance is taking longer than usual. I will submit my PCC, once I have received it.

CIC officer reviewing your file will update the profile and you will have an option to upload new document.

I would suggest to wait for the 18th or 19th day, and then submit the profile at last minute. Just in case you receive PCC>

Thanks a lot Specterz
