Hi , i m from new delhiunfortunately based on some recent rule by MEA, if your passport address and current address are different, then you will have reapply for a new passport.
Yes you hear me right, NEW PASSPORT, this is so ridiculous.
I spoke with APO Pune RPO, and she said this is new govt circular from end of Dec.
Still I see that some RPOs are issuing PCC even if the address is different.
God knows, how they function.
getting from Police station is my hope. will try that.
else will apply for new passport.
Thanks

HelloEven though it has been mentioned that you can apply for PCC from District Police Station, the PCCs issued from these places specifically covers the clearance for the applicant's stay in that region only. In India, if the applicant has stayed at the same address or in the same city for their entire duration in India, then the applicant can go ahead with the PCC issued from local SP Office or District Police Station.
On the other hand, if the applicant has stayed in different cities in India, then the best would be to get PCC from PSK. PCC issued by PSK is applicable for the applicant's entire stay in India as it does not mention any address of the applicant.
You need to get it from PSK not local District police... as PSK PCC is easy to verify + its linked with your passport & Ministry.Hello
I have completed my eAPR and Biometrics. However, in the documents section i submitted PCC from local District Police Station. I have yet not received any decision on my application as it has been just 2 months (March 10, 2019) since I received my AOR. DO you think i should contact CIC (case specific query) and ask if they prefer PCC from PSK to PCC from local district police station before it gets rejected.IS there any way out?
Also, i have stayed in different parts of the country for educational and work purposes.
Thanks in Advance.
Thanks for the reply. However, do you think they will be willing to accept this document now. If yes, what shall the procedure to upload this document. You need to get it from PSK not local District police... as PSK PCC is easy to verify + its linked with your passport & Ministry.
Just get the PCC from PSK and upload it to the case specific inquiry otherwise your application can be rejected.
Just upload via web form and write a little explanation that just got the PCC from PSK via web form or case specific inquiry at the will give you option to attach the supporting documentsThanks for the reply. However, do you think they will be willing to accept this document now. If yes, what shall the procedure to upload this document.
In the case specific query, under what head, should I upload the PCC? Could you please guide on the same
Yes you can do that with little bit explanation also explain them you followed the instructions given by IRCC website and submitted the District Police Certificate along with your application but you have already applied for the PCC from PSK as well.... tell them you have attached the acknowledgement letter from PSK and PCC will be uploaded once you get it.thanks sheri268 for your quick replies.
I have already applied for PCC from PSK. However it will still take approximately 2 weeks to get that PCC in hand after which i can upload that in my profile. Do you suggest if I should attach appointment letter for PCC right away in a case specific query. It has been 2 months since I received my AOR and hopefully i wont be receiving rejection in another 2 weeks. What do u suggest.
I actually followed below mentioned guidelines on CIC website :
If you are a citizen of India:
If you live in India:
For residents of Punjab: You can apply to your local Senior Superintendent of Police, or the senior ranking police official at the police station in your district.
Hello sherry268Yes you can do that with little bit explanation also explain them you followed the instructions given by IRCC website and submitted the District Police Certificate along with your application but you have already applied for the PCC from PSK as well.... tell them you have attached the acknowledgement letter from PSK and PCC will be uploaded once you get it.
Make sure write down to the point
They won’t reply you... you informed them about your situation your part is done now it’s up to them how they deal ....but before rejecting on your indian PCC they will reconsider it as you already informed but it’s up to the officer ....but make sure once you receive your PCC upload it ok...Hello sherry268
As suggested by you, I have submitted a case specific query and attached the appointment receipt. However, i have received the below message :
"Your enquiry has been successfully submitted. We will get back to you with answers to your questions as soon as possible.
If your application is within normal processing times you will not receive a reply from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada."
My application is well within normal processing times; so looks like I wont be receiving any reply at all.I chose the option of 'Permanent Residence (applied online) from the drop down menu. There was another option of 'Replacement Documents, amendment to documents and verification of status documents". DO you think I should have gone with the latter option to get a reply from them.
