can anyone tell me if I have imagined reading this somewhere.

I know with police certificates it states that it's everywhere you have lived since the age of 18 if it's been 6 months or more.

So when you get your ITA do they ask for them since 18 or just the last 10yrs if your old enough like me it's been 22 yrs since I was 18 ;D

I lived in Gran canaria over 10 years ago but don't want to go through the hassle if it's not needed. I have no record anywhere in the world as I'm a good girl. It's just the hassle of certifying passports and filling in forms and having to go to bank to pay and getting proof of payment when I'm currently living in Germany and it's complicated to explain all this to Germans when I don't speak the language.

So any of you been through the process would be great to get your feedback.

Thanks

Am afraid it's for all places you have stayed around 6 months or greater since the age of 18.

See below:

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.

Hi Thanks for your answer, like I said I know what the rules are and what they say but I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything different.

I'm only asking g because I could swear that I read somewhere that when someone got ITA they only had to send 10 years. Maybe it was on the other forum

It specifically says in the past 10 years or since your 18th bithday whichever was sooner. When filling out your application you are filling out the details for the past ten years only, so essentially, CIC wouldn't even know your lived in Gran Canaria since that wouldn't appear in your 10 year history. Therefore, they wouldn't ask for a pcc. The same goes for anything else. Although my husband lived in a billion different addresses prior to 2005, i didn't bother with them since it's beyond the past 10 years. Just my two cents. Hopefully I am right.

Hi I'm on your same situation. Did the CIC request PCC in Canaria even thought it was over 10 years?

Hi i have also similar issue.i have submitted my PR application on June 13,2016.But i didn't submit one PCC from foreign country because still that is on process. However,i attached the proof that i had applied from that country. So my question do i need to obtain from that country because i have worked there on 2004 to 2005. so while filling eAPR there it says the details for past 10 years only, but i have mentioned that country also.So cic gonna a request me later or not.
Thanks
Rabin

As part of a complete application, applicants, their spouse or common-law partner and their dependent children 18 years of age or older (including non-accompanying dependants) must submit a valid police certificate for all countries or territories (except Canada) in which they have lived for a total of six months or more, since the age of 18.
