Police certificate question

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction regarding police certificates.. after being sent back to me twice I got an email today informing me that my application is finally being processed..yay!!! They are requesting police certificates now and I already have one from Ireland (where I have lived most of my adult life) it is dated December 15th 2016..is this still valid? It also says I need one from my current country of residence, which is Canada.. do I need this??

We're Irish applicants too, that one should be fine as long as you haven't been back since.

Did you actually get the RCMP request letter? We did, for RCMP check and prints because applicant has lived here for quite some time.

No, I just got the request to upload police certs but on the guidelines it says for the country you've lived most of your adult life and your current country. Don't want to delay the process by applying for Canadian police clearance if I don't need it

Ah ok I am not sure then, we got the specific request for RCMP check and prints!

You don't need to apply for a Canadian PCC. If IRCC wants one, they will send you a request specifically telling you to apply for an RCMP check.

You don't have to send an RCMP clearance unless requested but it's up to you if you wish to send it in upfront as it avoids them asking I guess.
