Please review your mailing address above and advise us of any updates.

Dear <PRINCIPAL APPLICANT NAME>,

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 15 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform us immediately by email to: <EMBASSY EMAIL> with details concerning your situation.

STEP 1: Change in Circumstances:
Should any of the following circumstances apply to you or any accompanying family member, you must inform this office immediately:
 Change in marital status, for example due to marriage, divorce, legal separation, annulment or death of spouse;
 Change in family composition, for example due to adoption or birth of a child, including a child born to your accompanying dependent child,
 Death of principal applicant, spouse, accompanying children, or death of sponsoring relative;
 Change in health;
 You or any of your accompanying family members being charged or convicted of a criminal offence
 Change in contact information: mailing address, e-mail address, or telephone number.
Your failure to inform IRCC offices of any of these changes may result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa and may render you and your accompanying family members inadmissible to Canada.
Your failure to declare all of your family members, accompanying or not, will permanently exclude them from sponsorship under the Family Class regulations.

STEP 2: Passport Requirements – Determine if you need to submit your passport(s)
 Determine whether you require a visa to enter Canada at www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/visit/visas.asp
 Please note that if you or your accompanying family members are permanent residents of the U.S.A and a holder of a passport which requires a visa to enter Canada, you are still required to submit your passport(s).
If you require a visa to enter Canada, then submit your passport(s):
 Please provide your passport or travel document and a passport or travel document for each accompanying family member. An accompanying family member must have his or her own passport or travel document.
 There must be at least two blank pages in your passport(s).
 Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports or travel documents.
 All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages.
If you do not require a visa to enter Canada:
 Please submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport for you and one for each accompanying family member.
 Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 12 months from the date of this letter.
 Please note that you cannot use a Diplomatic, Official or Military passport to travel to Canada to become a permanent resident of Canada. You must be in possession of an ordinary passport.

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS
You must submit together:
1. One copy of this letter.
2. Original Passport as explained in Step 2.
3. Two (2) photos of yourself respecting precise specifications that can be found at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf
4. In order for us to return your documents, you must provide our office with a pre-paid airway bill ( a prepaid envelope from an international courier service company such as DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc.) Please ensure that the courier company used has service available in Mexico.

STEP 4: SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS
All required documents must be submitted in one single package.
Your visa(s) will expire on 2017/06/05. If the validity of your passport or the passport of any accompanying family member expires before this date, your visa will expire at this earlier date. If it is the case, that person may wish to apply for a new passport. Please note that you must travel to Canada within the validity of your visa.

We are looking forward to receiving your package within 15 days to conclude your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Sincerely,

Hello everyone.

I have sent my pictures, fingerprints etc to the Canadian embassy in Mexico (through UPS, I put in the Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra address, but it got delivered at the Miguel Hidalgo address). Sent on July 23, delivered on July 26. I'm not Mexican and I am applying from Canada so this is my only option.

I read that some of you got a confirmation email from the embassy that they received the documents and they tell you on which date they have started the process of asking the Mexican authorities for the Constancia de Datos Registrales. I didn't receive any confirmation from the embassy... I wrote them an email at mexico-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca two weeks ago, but still no answer. Do they take long to answer the emails usually? Should I call them to see if they have my documents and started the process?

Thanks everyone and good luck!

Hola Pau, gracias por tu respuesta. Jiji debiste decir tranquilo y positivo jijiji soy chico. Oye mira les envie todo a los de la embajada de Canada en Mexico el 7 de Julio y les llego el 11. Les escribi para preguntar si habian recibido mi documentacion y efectivamente, tal y como tu dices, me respondieron a las dos semanas lo siguiente:

"Sir/Madam,

Request was sent to Mexican authorities on July 15, 2016. Processing time for a federal police certificate from Mexico takes from 30-60 business days. Results will be sent directly to the IRCC office/mission processing client’s file.

Regards | Cordialement | Atentamente,

Immigration Section | Section d'immigration (pgb)
Embassy of Canada, Mexico | Ambassade du Canada, Mexico"

Suerte! Estamos al tanto

Yes, for what I've read in other threads they can take a while replying. Not sure if you can contact the immigration section by phone, but you can certainly give it a try. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hello everyone,

Based on the available information on this and other related threads, I have compiled some benchmarks on the processing times for the Mexico PCC.
These are the most recent records I was able to find. I did not include the earlier processing times since it seems there were some issues. Feel free to fill the not available data in case you are able to do so.
MEX received is the date the package reached Canadian Embassy in Mexico.
sent to PGR is the date the documents were sent to PGR (stated in some emails).
sent to VO is the date the PCC was sent to the corresponding visa office (also stated in the emails).
Days are calculated as "natural days".

Anyways, hope you find this useful.

It took them 18 days to answer the email. Hopefully they answer yours soon so you can know what's going on. I'm very relieved with that email, I was worried that they would ignore my file because I didn't have an official letter of request from CIC. But it looks like it was fine without it!

Si carls yo tambien mandé una carta igual a la que escribó elessar y es todo lo que necesitas.

I received an update from the embassy, they say they sent my Constancia results to IRCC today! So it took PGR maximum 31 days to process. Much faster than expected :) Total days since reception by the embassy is 48.

Good luck to you elessar and carls!
