Police Certificate for India

Hi all,
I am currently residing in Canada.
As per the guidelines it seems for Non-residents of India Applicants should contact the Indian embassy or consulate

Applicants should contact the Indian embassy or consulate.


I already have a PCC from the local police of Punjab. Do I still need to go to the consulate in Canada and get one from them as well?
