I just got my PCC done today along with my husband. For both of us it took around 1.5 hours.

We got ours done at Sai Arcade - Marathahalli.

Follow the below steps,

1. Book an appointment on the passportgov website. It will show you the earliest dates available. You will have to download the form, fill in the details and upload the form. If uploading is successful then you can go ahead with the booking of the appointment and the online payment for Rs. 500/-.
2. Once your payment is successful, you will need to take a print out of the PCC Application Receipt. Along with this, the following documents are required:
a) At least 2 copies of your ITA
b) 2 Self attested copies of your passport including your ECR sheet
c) 2 copies of your current address proof
3. Ensure that you reach the place before the appointment timing. Today they did not allow the processing of a few applicants as they came way past their appointment timing.
4. Wait in the normal queue. If all your documents are proper then he will hand over a file to you with a token and ask you to proceed to the applicant entry door.
5. Once you are through, then there is a waiting room where there will be LCD Screens showing the Token Number along with the counter number where they were required to proceed to. It hardly took 10 minutes of us waiting before we were sent to respective counter A, but please be alert to note when your Token number appears on the screen.
6. At the counter A , you will have to submit the file with the copies. The officer will ask for all the originals of the copies. They will also take your photo & fingerprints of both hands.
7. Once the application uploading & printing is completed at Counter A, the officer will send you to Counter B , where there again is an LCD with all Token numbers appearing. Once you're token number appears on the screen, please move to the respective counter. The officer at this counter will validate all documents and ask few questions if necessary. If all seems fine, then he will send you to Counter C
8. Counter C is the Granting counter. Again once your token number appears on the screen, please move to the respective counter and submit your file along with the original passport. My officer did not ask me any questions, just took the documents, entered the details on the computer & then asked me to stand aside and wait for 5 minutes.
9. In a few minutes, along with my passport I received 2 copies of the PCC duly signed by the respective Officer.
10. As you are exiting, you are required to submit the Token back at the exit, along with the feedback signed at the back of the Token. They will then hand you an acknowledgement sheet saying that you have been granted the PCC.

It was a very good and smooth process except for the havoc that is right outside at the initial counters where you receive your files at the onset.

Also, please note the below few points:

1. My current address is different from my passport address, but the proof that I was submitting was Aadhar card which was easily accepted. The passport office requires the complete Aadhar Card and not only the below portion. The photocopy also has to be taken the same way.
2. My husbands current address is also different from the passport address, but he did not have any proof for the address here in Bangalore, apart from the Rent Agreements. He decided to take a company letter as address proof, which was lucky for us since the Passport office does not encourage using Rental Agreements as Address Proofs. They took the original company letter to keep in their records.
3. There is a PCC letter that is also required to be submitted in the first counter. We got ours from the Photocopier who supplies the same.
4. If your passport is expiring anytime within the next 6 months, then please ensure that you renew your passport & then apply for the PCC. My husbands passport expires in January & the consultant had told us to do the PCC first & then get the passport renewed. Unfortunately, at the Passport Office, they made my husband sign a letter of declaration regarding the same.
5. If your passport shows that you are single & you are married now, then the Passport office will change your status to single as the PCC will get done only on the basis of the current Passport details.
6. Also, when your spouse is getting the PCC done, please ensure that she/he carries along with original marriage certificate along with them as the ITA will only contain the name of the Principal Applicant and not the dependent. The Marriage certificate is the only proof that you can show that you are married to the Principal Applicant.

I hope the above post clarifies all your questions/doubts. Please feel free to ask me any clarifications.

Thanks,
Avanti

Hi Avanti,

As per the CIC site only people at Delhi could apply via PSK. Did you face any issues on submitting the PCC of PSK ? Shall I apply through PSK or commissioner's Office ? Please suggest.

Thanks,
Abhi

You just need to mention their names. They don't need to come along with you to the PSK.

I'm not a Delhi applicant and I applied using a PSK PCC. It's fine to use a PSK PCC.

Hi All,

I have finally got my Indian PCC and was given with Clear status(no criminal record). Im so happy. They gave two copies on A4 paper signed by them and stamped the same thing on my passport. :)

Since I did not had the bangalore address proof, the police station was not ready to give me the clearance. I had to request my owner to get the rental agreement. Along with that the police guys also asked me the handwritten letter from my owner stating my stay in the building with his signature.
After submitting both of them, they notified clear status to PSK. Within 3 days, I received sms from PSK to collect the PCC.

Thanks,
Vijay

hello Everyone

i want to ask

my passport is going to expire in 2017 and i have given it(Xerox copy) to PNP with my file and still i did not receive any thing means no nomination till date.

will it be a good idea to renew it at this stage or should i wait?(i am worried, if i send the old copy of passport to visa office for stamping then i have very limited time for moving to canada to get PR CARD )
once i get nomination and ITA, will the CIC ACCEPT MY renewed copy of passpot?

please give your comment in detail

Thankyou

Apparently the Passport India website is down for maintenance

Can someone kindly provide me a list of documents that qualify for address proof?

I am based out of Bangalore but my passport was issued in Singapore so I need a local address proof before I can apply for PCC

Friends,

I got my PCC completed today from Sai Arcade, Bellandur-Marathahalli, Bangalore.

Thanks to Avanti's detailed summary on the experience, which really helped me prep and take me through the process. The entry to the flow of the process matched exactly how Avanti has mentioned and it took us 45 mins at 10am on a weekday end to end.

My wife and I have Passports which were issued outside of Bangalore or Karnataka. We both didn't have Aadhar cards reflecting the present address. My wife had an LPG bill coming in her name for our present address and the only option I had was to get my nationalised Bank (PNB) passbook updated, using my Rental agreement. This was easily accepted by the folks at PSK.

Reach 30mins prior to your appointment atleast, as the first counter/reception where they do a quick verification of your documents is a bit crowded. You need to get a PCC form from the Photostat person in the building as well.

I took originals and 2 photocopies of the below:
ITA Invite letter
Marriage certificate (to add reference for my wife)
Bank Passbook and statement
Old and New Passport (with photocopy of ECR page from old passport)
Aadhar card
PAN Card

Address confirmation from my Company - since it is a automated letter without a seal, wasn't accepted
Rental agreement - though 'registered on revenue paper' was deemed as not acceptable

This experience really gave a reassurance that our Govt's processes are improving and things will progressively get better.

Thanks to all from the forum.

Hope it helps
Krishna

Hi,
My permanent address is from Hassan KAR and my wife's permanent address is from Bengaluru KAR. I am working in Pune for last 10 years. Me and my wife have our permanent addresses on our respective passports and aadhaar cards. My query regarding PCC is - do I need to get PCC done in Pune or in Bengaluru passport office ? :) For Pune address proof, I have notarized rent agreement.

I got mine from PSK at Sai Arcade... I had my passport renewed as well from the same location a year back.

If your address in your passport is same as your current address then its ok just have copies of your passport and ITA.. else you need an address proof.

I got mine the same day.. it took me 45 mins from entering to exit.

All the best to rest.

thanks!

how to get the PCC for the spouse, since the ITA contains only the name of the primary applicant.

regards

Thanks for starting this thread guys. Few questions I have here:

1. Do we need an ITA to start the PCC process ?
2. My passport renewed last March (less than a year) and has my current address of Bangalore, I understand this will help me get my PCC quickly,
Also my passport has my spouse name on it but my spouse's passport was issued 3 years back from some other state, has different address than current and does not contain my name on it so would it create any issue for my spouse's PCC ?

Do police come to the address for verification? I have recently renewed my passport in July however, in my passport the address is different from my current address (I now live in a rented apart from Feb) so I have a question, my passport recently is updated with my permanent address however, I have y rent agreement from Feb will this cause an issue? Also, do police visit home to give the clearance certificate?

Hi All,

I went to PSK at Sai Arcade in Bangalore. First the entire process was very slow. In spite of providing my Aadhar card, Bank statements, I have been asked to get PV done and get the clear report from Police. Today I got a message that PV details have been sent to police station.

What should I do. Should I go to Police station or wait for the call.

tks,

anyone from Mumbai who has done PCC from PSK? is the process mentioned here still valid? pls share your experiences
