Points for Education if total number of years are 16.5 and not 17

Dear Team,

Please clear me about this point that I have done three years Bachelors Degree (Bachelor in Computer Science (Honors) but credit hours are 123 (39 courses) which are equivalent to 4 year Bachelor degree in Canada. Moreover I have also done MS Telecom which was a 1.6 years Fast Track program containing 53 credit hours and it is equivalent to proper Masters in Canada. If I go by the facts then in total I have 16.6 years of education including Masters so will I Qualify for 25 points or 22 points because in EG7 guide it is stated that

Example 1: If you have a Master‘s degree but have completed only 16 years of full-time study, award yourself 22 points.

Please clarify :-\ :

But if I write a letter in the application clarifying my degree situation that actually my bachelor is honors and equivalent to 4 years in Canada and my Master is fast track 1.6 years which is having same amount of credit hours as in Canada then wont Visa Officer consider it ? Will they go by the book strictly ??????

Yes, i m afraid that is the case.. it is advised to look for other options to increase your points! (ielts maybe)

get a letter from ur university (from where u did ur MS) the letter must state the eligibility criteria for MS (that it is not less than 15 years of education)...and after the completion of MS now u have education 17 years (boc of the fast track u did it 1.6 years)

they will not believe ur words ...but if u have this letter ......... they will hopefully give u 25 points

My university Website has the MS broucher and Master of Science Degree information page which states that MS is of 2 years with 33 credit hours but the students who have three years bachelor degree then they have to study addition credit hours. This broucher and information page serves the purpose so can I just simply take color print of them and attach them with my written application to immigration officer or still i also need an additional letter from my university stating my point explicitly ??????

that page does not serve the purpose ........... as it is generic information for all students

have u taken additional credit hours ?? (as u also have 3 years bachelors)

actually VO is not concerned with the credit hours ......... he is concerned with the total years of formal education

i think the letter from the registrar will do the magic .......... letter should specifically state that u have 17 years of education

talk to someone in registrar office......... they will give u the letter
