Hi,
I currently have a Bachelors degree. I am in my second year of Masters in a canadian university. I have not completed my Masters yet.

I want to ask that when I calculate my points do I include 20 points for my education or 25 points for my education. Secondly in adaptation do I include 5 points for a two years degree in canada or not?

My Bachelors degree is a four years degree in Engineering (B.Sc Engineering) and I am almost completing my masters degree. I want to apply to CIO sydney, NS for preliminary application. So should I carry on with my application or should I wait because if I get 20 points I am short of 1 point. If I get 22 then I am good to go.

Thank you for your replied in advance.

1. 20 you haven't completed your masters.
2. Yes, if you have been studying in Canada for 2 years after the age of 17.

Op06 says "Two or more university educational credentials at the bachelor’s level and at
least 15 years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent studies" = 22 points.

my brother had finished: 12+ 2 years Assistant Pharmacist diploma +4 bachelor degree in accounting. How much points can he claim? please help.

20. Either 20 for Bachelor with 16 years of education or 20 for Pharmacist diploma with 14 years of education.

The OP can't claim points for his Masters, as s/he hasn't completed it as of the date of the application.

I know some people who claimed masters (before finishing) and worked with them (they get above 67 only if masters is calculated)

Buffalo office instruction sets says if you are currently enrolled in a program send us the expected date of graduation.

I claimed my masters which is currently going on... I gave it a a try ... I dont know what will happen. (If I got rejected I will reapply again after finishing my masters where I will be guaranteed the 67 points so I will lose nothing by trying now)

2 of my friends claimed their masters degree and one of them got the PR even before finishing the degree knowing that without it he would get 64 points!!!

Guys please tell me at what stage exactly the points will be assessed??? (BUFFALO CASE ESPECIALLY)

It is the local CHC visa officers who calculate the total points after submission of full documents 8)

According to OP6: (Note: Subsection 78(3) of the IRPR provides that points are to be awarded on the basis of the single
educational credential that results in the highest number of points.)

However;

Pursuant to R77, officers should award points for the credential and years of study that the
applicant has completed at the time the application is made. If further study is completed and
documentation submitted between application and assessment, officers must award the points for
the highest educational credential obtained at the time of assessment.

Please Tell me when to expect this assesment exactly??? how long after Receiving the AOR?? (Buffalo Case)?

Is this when buffalo transfer the file to other local consulate?

Assessment will be done after receiving full documents...

You will get the Document request and 120 days deadline to submit documents...

You can take 120 days to prepare documents and sent to visa office....After receiving full documents by Visa office, Visa office start the process of assessment...

I know that but I mean in Buffalo office how long they will take to start this assesment???? how long after the AOR??

After receiving full documents by visa office, It takes approximately 3 month to get medical request.

Assessment starts immediately after receiving full documents....

Assessment may take 2 month or 1 years.....

My question is that if once the application gets rejected by the CIO sydney due to insufficient points, is it possible to apply again when the required points are achieved. Is there any problem the second time? Share experiences please.
