Hello Folks,

Before ITA I was eligible for CEC with 0 funds under the question how much funds can you bring in to Canada to support yourself.
Then I got ITA based on PNP. Should I worry about providing POF?

the PNP will give you the extra 600 points, but you still have to apply through one of the 3 programs - CEC, FSW, or FST. So if you were eligible before under CEC, hopefully you still are, and then don't have to worry about POF.

CIC has shifted the goalposts again. You are exempted from POF only if you either have an LMIA supported job offer or are invited under CEC. Mere qualification (eligibility) under CEC won't make you POF exempt.

As I said, before ITA I was only eligible for CEC and then I got invited after my province nominated my through EE. So ITA letter now says that you are invited to apply for PR under PNP.
But I see I am not asked to upload any POF in requested documents. I will take it as it is not required in my case.

I am in the same boat.. I Got my Nomination of ON. I had to show POF for my PNP application. I am expecting ITA in the next draw, so I am not sure should I show any POF If I get my ITA under PNP.

Also are we allow to edit any details before ITA and after Nomination? Then I can make my Fund to 0 and hopefully they wont ask for any POF?

CIC updated the POF page yesterday, it says unless you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada, or you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, you must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada.
So it is clear that those who has LMIA supported job and CEC applicants are exempted from showing POF. But I do not understand how should those candidates deal this situation (myself) if pre-ITA they were eligible under CEC and then got ITA under PNP.

I am not asked to upload POF but to play safe if I show POF then how should I do it?
I have $9K in my joint account and my spouse has also her separate account with $4k in it, all together we have around $13k. We can make it to $17K if I wait until my next pay.
Now the questions is, should I show POF from both joint account and my spouse separate account while providing bank letters and statements for both and a LOE to CIC to inform them that we both as a family maintain these much funds or should I transfer money from my spouse account to our joint account but again I have to explain the big transaction in the later case. Which doesn't look feasible to me.
For the last year our joint account has on and off $10k-15k but due to our expenditures we never maintained it for the sum that CIC wants for a family of 2 people ($14853).

Any suggestions?

If I have fund.. I will show that as a Proof to avoid complications. But I have to pay my balance on my credit cards to be safe before getting Bank certificates. Thats why I want to get rid of POF. But yes, if you have fund just show it.. :)

LOL same stuff. I will ask my friend to pay my rent ;)
But I am still looking for the answer If it is OK to show POF from joint account and spouse account to meet the LICO threshold set by CIC.

Experts please advise.

You cannot show the Fund in your spouse's account. It should be in your account. you can transfer the amount from her account to your account and show it as one and get the declaration letter from your Spouse.

Do you think she needs a declaration letter for transferring amount from her separate account to her joint account?
These accounts are in the same bank.
If she writes the letter then what should she write?

That's a Different situation then Buddy.. Not sure about that because its a transfer from her own account to your Joint account ; but still I think a huge amount is coming to your account right which is not yours? So they may need an explanation for this..

But Yeah Experts answer this question please...

Well joint account is for both of us. So if she transfers from her separate account into the joint account that means she is transferring money from her own account A to her own account B.
Tricky situation haan :p

Fair points. She can choose to do whatever she wants with her funds.

Recommend that she transfers the funds to joint account and you upload the bank certificate/letter along with a self-declaration from her that she has no reservations against using specified monies from your joint account towards POF purposes. That would suffice. However, to play it safer, include proof of the transaction from her singly owned account to your joint account and explain that using an LOE. That covers all bases.

I second that and I was going to do exactly what you have suggested but don't you think it looks very artificial by transferring big monies from one account to another purely for PoF?
Then I thought to provide my PoF as accumulated funds by providing two separate bank letters, one from our joint with $10k and other from spouse account with $5k and explain to them that this our family funds that can be used to settle here in Canada despite the fact that we are already settled
in Canada while doing full time permanent jobs.
