Landed in YVR last Saturday :) You go through Customs first then you enter a separate area for Immigration. This is where they will issue your student permit. You should not get your baggage first because carts arent allowed inside. Just show your passport, TRV, LOI and LOA, no other questions asked. The immigration officer was pretty friendly actually, and I was done in less than 5 minutes. Get a cart then wait for your luggage at the carousel :) If you have a connecting flight, you will have to go through all these steps and transfer to your designated boarding area.

5 mins? wow!

we had to line up at vancouver airport (to get study permit) for 1 hour and 30 mins. >:(

Thanks for sharing!
and I thought Toronto Pearson Airport is the busiest :O

Oh, I forgot to mention I was the first in line since I flew in Business class. haha!

I would choose waiting in a long line than paying for a business class flight :D haha!

I got it at a promo price (roughly %55 off the usual price) and since only economy premium was left at the time with just a $10 difference, I decided to go with Business class haha

it took us 1 hour and 30 mins because it was night already in vancouver, maybe like 9pm, and the the number of officers present was only "3" . there were 10 chairs, but only 3 officers were present. :o

Which Airline?

My POE was in Calgary, it was so easy all i had to do is show them the passport and nothing else. No queue no waiting! They said the LOI, university acceptance and other details were already in their network/system. Definitely easier than Toronto

What questions they ask ?? ???

I will land in Calgary in October :)

To all people who are worried about "what questions they ask, etc..",

Fellow members, they are not interrogating you when you arrive in Canada. If you have original documents, your purpose is valid, and you know the details of your program, where you gonna live, etc.. that's it, you don't have to worry about anything. Just think of it like a simple interview.
