PNP PR - September - October -2019 Applicants

Hi I was laid off on my job due to pandemic. I still have 11 months on my current close work permit. I have PR application AR Sept 30,2019.. my lawyer sent application for my Bridging Open Work Permit. I hope CIC give consideration even I still have almost a year of close work permit because my employer laid me off.. Im hoping for this

Who can apply
To be eligible for a BOWP, you must:

• live in Canada (Quebec not included)
• have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less
• be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application
• be approved in principle for permanent residence
• have no employment restrictions as a condition of your nomination

Yes it so early. But I was laid off to my current job. My immigration consultant just made a explanation letter why I am applying, she specified some circumstances. We sent it alongside with my application. My immigration consultant also told me that nothing will lost if we try. Maybe they give consideration because of the current situation. Hopefully

i am laid off too, but i talked with ircc agent he said there is nothing to worrying about pr application. As i have PGWP and it is valid for one year i can work anywhere as long as u have open work permit.

you didnt lose your job, did ur employer give you Termination letter? you have 13 weeks within that time if your employer doesnt call you then you can say your employement has been terminated. your still with your employer even you are laid off. Dont panic we are 4 people working for same company and all of us got laid off. this is worldwide it is not your fault.

I got the ROE I will apply for EI next week. I'm under LMIA with close work permit that's why I can't work with other employer. So my agent try to submit for my open work permit. Hoping the immigration give consideration with my case.

I saw ppl have similar situation, they just send webform ask IRCC, and then get refund. only pay once for biometric

I got the ROE I will apply for EI next week. I'm under LMIA with close work permit that's why I can't work with other employer. So my agent try to submit for my open work permit. Hoping the immigration give consideration with my case.

But a requirement for a BOWP is that you do not have employment restrictions. I am in the same situation and I do not know how to deal with it!

Yes I don't have employment restrictions and no employer's name under my nomination certificate

I just checked the IRCC website.

No police clearance nor medical request for the mean time

But I think they are continuing processing all the application who has police clearance on there application.. so maybe. They are doing eligibility and security check, then medical request on the last part?
