Just called CIC regarding my application status. The agent I spoke with said all he can say is that my file is fine. And that since i am still within the 19months window, I should prepare to become a permanent residence latest by April/May next year! Nothing much, but at least I can plan!

Hey I have a very similar timeline (Sep 18, 2017 applicant) and I had a ghost update on Dec 18th (two days ago). I called CIC and the agent said there is no update on my file. I am confused as to what the ghost update was about then!! frustrating as I thought security has passed. Did the agent explicitly told you your security has passed?

The agent did not want to give me much information, he just said my file is fine. said he cannot give me information about security or my background status because it's not passed 19months yet. But i should be assured i will get PPR April/May 2019.

Sometimes the agents don't know much. Probably the officer is working on your file and it is even likely that you passed the security stage, but agents don't know much. I called in August and the agent told me that my file was on the Security Stage. Then I requested the notes which I received at the end of November. These notes were issued in October and the point is that there was no update and my file is just ready to start the Security stage. I hope that you already passed security and hopefully soon the PPR will be in your email

Yes, agent told me that security has been passed, and next step will be PPR.
