Hi good people, I have a question, I don’t know how many of you have the employment restrictions like me which has to keep the full time status and etc but as Ontario is going to enter another lockdown my boss wanna put me on part time for the following month. Is this really gonna effect the application like I may not pass the eligibility or that is a ok thing to do. I’ve checked this forum for long time and didn’t see a lot of people talk about this, it’s actually hard to keep full time for this whole process during this pandemic...really need your help, thank you

Its better if you inform IRCC ASAP of this change in condition.

Hi Shawn. Do not take this as an advice, it’s just my opinion but ircc’s ways aren’t always logic not fair. I’d say it depends on the degree and duration of your upcoming part time work. Ircc counts 30 hours a week as full time I believe, will you work less than that? If not, you technically should be fine. If yes, then will it just be for one month, temporarily? That should, in all fairness, be easily explained away by covid related short term impact and I’m not sure if I would even feel that it need to be mentioned unless asked for it. Also, you’re allowed to have time off (holiday), so really it shouldn’t be a problem if it’s just one month. But again, do your own research or perhaps ask a lawyer. Good luck!

Thank you very much, that’s really helpful! Just wondering if you know is there a way that I can contact ircc regarding this, just wanna ask them if this is ok or not, thanks!

As a BCPNP nominee, I was jobless for the most part of last year and currently work part time (less than 30 hrs), however, my PR application is still in process. My employer has promised to increase my hours by end of this month. BCPNP have been very understanding and advised me to continue searching for a job. Last year I called IRCC and spoke to an agent who assured me that even while jobless (as a nominee), the PR application process is not interrupted so long as my nomination has no restrictions. However, I would assume at some point, they will want an applicant to have secured a full time job before the process is fully complete. At least you are still employed, I do not see this being an issue.

BC requires nominees to inform them of any changes in employment, not sure about Ontario. I would suggest you contact Ontario PNP and let them know.

I see posts from some that they did their medicals upfront. Is that really permitted for paper based applicants. Please advise.

It is not permitted by CIC to do. It is all our choice whether we want to do it or we want to wait for Medical Request.

Also, nothing is mentioned online that someone who did upfront medical got punished or harmed. Nothing is mentioned officially anywhere on CIC's website.

Keep only 1 thing in mind. Medical results are valid only for 1 year.
