We have all had to be patient with the process, but everything has worked out! I went back through my paperwork and thought I'd give a last update and hope to anyone still waiting.tenkrun10 said:Big congrats BiCanada. I know you've had to be patient. Came back to check on our colleagues and glad to see progress. If it's worth it (not sure where you are in the US). I landed at the Sarnia border (I drove from Illinois , through Michigan into Ontario). The border had no wait, very easy, almost not questions. Exactly one month in Nova Scotia today and I absolutely love Halifax and Canada so far.
I crossed the border yesterday 24 Feb on the way to Winnipeg via Emerson border crossing. Everything went very well, I went during a very slow period, had no wait, it took about 40 minutes at the station. Most of my processing was related to importing a vehicle, not necessarily immigration. That process was fairly quick. I then headed to Winnipeg and had enough time in the day to get the SIN and Health Card. Was so shocked at how fast and simple that was relative to the immigration process before hand. Everything was so simple and fluid after you get the COPR.
Here's my timeline:
Dec 2013, applied to MPNP
Oct 2014, received nomination
Nov 2014, applied with nomination to CIC
Apr 2015, medical requested
May 2015, medical completed/accepted
Oct 2015, changed to in process in ECAS
Jan 2016, decision made - COPR letter sent immediately since I was in a VISA exempt country, received letter within two weeks of the DM
Feb 2016, landed
Hopefully this provides some clarity as to what to expect for others going through the process. I've always loved Canada, love that I'm here permanently!
Best of luck and hope to you all. This will probably be my last post, but I hope my experience - along with others - provides the inspiration you all need to keep going and try to not worry!
