can u share your landing experience i mean how nice or rude they were.
normally i have heard CBSA on land border r not so polite and some times very
rude.

Thanks a lot!

They were very nice and polite. I had to wait for a long time since the crossing was quite busy. It took a little more than 3 hours for my turn to come up - I went to rainbow bridge.

My passport reached on Monday and they sent it out the next Tuesday. So, all in all, the process took about 11 days from me sending my passport to me getting it back. I used express post.

Congratulations! Did you have US visa? I am waiting for my passport backed and I am thinking to go to rainbow bridge to land. But I am worried about the refusal letter that they give, does it affect the US visa application later? Also would you please let us know what documents they asked for landing? I know they asked some people for the proof of funds.

Many thanks

No it does not affect your potential visa application. however, when asked at by the CBSA "have you ever been refused entry into any country" you state "yes, just now for landing purposes" and show them the refusal letter.

What refusal letter are you talking about Reza ? My visitors visa to US was refused 3 years back, but I don't have any refusal lletter, Please elaborate?

Although I had a US Visa, you do not need it. My wife does not have a visa, and she was able to do the process in exactly the same way. The only document I had to provide other than the COPR, Passport and the letter CIC sends is a proof of address. So, something like a drivers license will do. They didn't ask me for any proof of funds.

I too went to Rainbow bridge for my landing. However, I had to wait for more than 3 and a half hours. I've heard that Lewiston is quicker. So, that might be worth considering.

Hi all,

I received passports and CORs this afternoon, but instead of be happy about it, now I should deal with landing process; I can not go to any Canada/ US border because my single entry US Visa will be expired. I should leave Canada by the end of February!

I called CIC call-centre for making appointment but the lady was very kind and said she can make an appointment but there is no guaranty to have an appointment till end of February.

Any advice?

After 10 days, my tracker have not been activated yet for passport return from CIC. Is this normal? How long does it take?

My tracker just got activated today (after 14 days) so you should be fine :)

I don't think you need a US visa for flag poling as you will not enter into the border gate at USA.

Generally, you don't need US visa for flag polling (they give you a refusal letter,...).

But the problem is that, I have a single entry US visa, but I need it when I need to go to US (end of Feb. and my contract starts March 1st) for my research study in US.

No one knows what's gonna happen when I am in the border. The US officers may stamp my visa, and then I have to go to US instead of coming back to Canada for landing. If I do so, I cannot land.

I am really stuck.

LOL. WTH...dude relax.. why are you stressing out about it. You dont need to have any visa. you go to the border, you see the officer at the US border office, you tell him that you are there not to enter US but to go back and get you PR Status, they will give you a refusal letter (this refusal letter does not affect your futuer visa applications), with that letter you go back to CBSA officer and give that letter to CBSA officer. thats it. You dont have to enter US.
