This gives an opportunity to clarify and give the inquirer the clearest and most recent info. A few things

1) The link you showed is the recent update. Updated June 23rd 2015 (3 weeks ago), the date of the last revision is seen if you scroll all the way down on your link. The paragraph in your last statement is therefore what holds now

2) CIC will assess your PCC based on the rules in play at the time your application was submitted NOT when the specific doc is being requested

3) This is the important part - "PCC cannot be more than 3 months old" in your initial comment is different from "must be issued no more than 3 months prior to submitting your application". Very different. - For example, I submitted my app Oct, got my PCC November. I was finally asked for the PCC in JUly. The PCC is 8 months Old, It was still accepted. The reason is in the rule you copied ...the key being....it is from the date the application was submitted. That's the reference point. So the gentleman / woman stating the PCC has been in since december reminded me of my own situation - i submitted, no issues.

Whatever the case, your follow up at least affords the forum the latest info on the latest issue date validity of PCC

Tenkrun - I (gentleman, btw) read the provision in exactly the same way. According to me too, the issue date of the PCC should not be more than 3 months before the date of the application. I seem to be following a similar trajectory to you. I had asked CIC about sending the PCC and was told to only send it when asked by an officer. Which is why I was confused when CIC asked me for the RPRF before the PCC. It seems that certain people were asked for the PCC along with the RPRF which baffles me even further - I'm reasonably certain that they will ask me for the PCC but I don't know when that will happen. TBH, I don't think anyone can really know how CIC functions. I think it might be extremely dependent on individual circumstances and the officer looking at it!

P.S. How many people here have submitted their Police clearances for Canada? I haven't obtained one since the website clearly states "These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18." From what I understand, a lot of people either submit this with their application or else are asked for it.

Today my agent received letter from CIC for documents request PCC... PASSPORT COPY..SCHEDULE A AND RPRF REQUES....

There was nothing mentioned on letter about PCC still valid or expired...

THANKS,i think that is the reminder email which most of us received on july 2nd.you don't need to do anything, if you submit all the required documents, wait until further information

I am in big confusion.
I got my PCC from Indian consulate in June and My application received in CIC on 10th November.
My lawyer got mail from CIC 15 days back. It is common mail like every one get Reminder letter for RRPF,PCC and Schedule A.
My lawyer only told me to do Fingerprint from RCMP.
Should I apply for Indian PCC again?
Their processing time is 6 weeks.
If CIC ask for PPR during processing of Indian PCC what will happen?
