July applicant, medicals passed and rprf paid and yet Background check says not started. Should I be worried?? Doesn't BG check start once they star processing your file? If anyone can shed some light would be appreciated.

If you have to change job while waiting for PR, are the below steps correct?

1. Notify AINP by letter of the new job details by getting a job letter from the new employer. Do I need a job description as well?

2. Notify IRCC...do I just upload the new job letter via Case Specific Enquiry?

Please let me know.

Appreciated

Hi,

How much time it takes to get the ppr after medical??? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello Guys.. need help
My application status is below.
Review of eligibility - in progress
A background check is needed - in progress
Medical - passed

What does it mean? I applied on October 20, 2016 under PNP Inland. How long I have to wait from now?

Also, what does "Date Read" under messages mean? Does it mean that they read message or I read the message? I do not have complete access to my account as I am applying through lawyer... so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did CIC ask you to do medical or you did upfront medical? My document was received on September 22 and received AOR on Dec 22, 2016, I already paid the RPRF but no medical request yet.

Thanks,

Hey! I've had a similar question and after going through a couple of forums, the most recent being for jan-march 2016 applicants. Many say best guess is 3 months. Even the ircc says from the time of medical completion till when you can expect to hear from them again is 3 months. So looking forward hopefully for only a 3 month wait.

They normally take 5 months from the date of application and receipt of Acceptance of permanent residency application. I got a status of medical passed just 3 days after application for PR, then there was a long wait of 4.5 months before receiving of Passport request. SO it depends upon the immigration officer. Normally they dont update each and every step in your account. They just update medical results. You can order GMCS notes if you want to know the details of your application. They are officer notes on your application who determines your eligibility. They charge you 25$ CAD for it.
Regards

Yes 3 months or more, however it depends on personal circumstances. The deadline may vary case to case. Overall processing time of PR application for PNP candidates is 6 months as stated by IRCC on their website

How long did it take for your medical status to be updated in your MyCIC account? The whole process takes approx 6 months to be completed this include dates from passing medical exam and receiving PPR. Mine took 4 months from Medicals to PPR

Thanks for the info, I do hope it's only 3 months..The wait is absolute torture. Did the processing time for PNP change?? Last I checked it said 16 months. I recall 6 months being for the Express Entry applicants not Paper based applicants.

Am sure is express entry you were referring to, below is my timeline.
Ainp nomination aug 29 2016
App received sep 23
Aor dec 23
I did Upfront medical because I got EE nomination.
Bgc - ip dec 24
Medical passed dec 29
Bgc ip - not needed feb 10.
I ordered my gcms note and I saw:
eligibility passed,
Criminality passed
Medical passed
I think what's remaining is security test at which the bgc will change to IP for the second time before requesting ppr.
Am waiting anxiously for ppr either from my ee or paper app.

Hi ImmiGoal,

After 3rd Feb 2017, did not check the status because for checking the status I need to ask my immigration lawyer every time. As of now, not received any mail from CIC. Waiting for "Final Decision" and "PPR" !!

Are you an inland or outland applicant?

Will be in touch and all the best !!

Hey gautham159,

Sorry for the delay..

I am outland.. and you ??

Did you get any updates since your last reply ??

Sure we ll be in touch.
