right now it's the matter of actually getting the security check initiated, which is not happening. Some applications have been sitting in that uncertain stage for months now, just waiting for them to be sent to that security check stage. Why they are not sending them out to conduct those checks remains a mystery to me.

@petaji is Feb 9th applicant. Currently, he is at 16 months which comes under 18-months processing time.
So, VO is simply relaxing & wants to initiate security check in the last moment.

Of course I called them and asked the agent about my security check... and he said that it hasnt started yet :/
 
My time line in Ecas :
  1. We received your application for permanent residence on September 20, 2016.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on December 21, 2016.
  3. We started processing your application on December 22, 2016.
  4. We sent you correspondence on February 11, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  5. Medical results have been received.
MYCIC status :
Application status We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you. Help - Application status
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Help - Review of eligibility
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam. Help - Review of medical results

I don't know what can be reason for my delays ?Last week when i called them, they told me security is not initiated yet.
Really worried and frustrated , its too much....can't bear more..
BGIP from feb 27, almost 3 months but security not started yet.

Your application crossed 18-months dead line.
You are inland or outland?
Why don’t you meet with local MP?
Did you added spouse in the middle of the process?

I have already asked MP, after doing follow-up , he said to wait for another three months and come back again if you didn’t get Pr within 3 months. Don’t know what’s the reason my security is not initiated yet .
