Im an April 18, 2016 applicant..
just spoke with an agent and she said the security check isn't started yet..........
does anyone know how long it takes once it start?
I'm currently holding closed work permit and plan to travel outside of Canada in October, so I will leave(quit) the job on Oct 6.
If the PR process is not finished until that time.. what should I do?
Do I have to stay in Canada and hang on the job?? or can I change the status to visitor?
any advise?

Nobody knows how long it takes for BG process now. It used to only take a day, now probably weeks. I'd say stay in Canada and keep the job till you get PR. After all you have waited for this long and it's not worth it if something goes wrong now.
