Im a Jan applicant and just received this email this morning does any know what that mean? has anyone got this email before?

Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.
Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

I think they gave up on handling Jan applicants files. They are simply saying WAIT and don't know HOW LONG. Very bad.
After I am landed, I requested BOWP application cancelation and refund my processing fee. They accepted my request 7 weeks ago and no update/refund after that.

if they think they will issue your PR visa before your passport expires, they won't ask for a new passport. if they need new passport they will ask you or provide you time to renew the passport.

Some of the people, they sent passport before me and still they are waiting for their passport. No idea how they are working on our application. Hopefully you will hear from them by this week. Did your application get approved yet? If not, then just give them a call. I hope this will help you.

thank you so much, I checked cic online my application is still "decision made", I tried to call cic but they were so busy and didn't even put me on hold to talk to someone. I can only keep checking cic online and canada post everyday and hope I have luck

It depends of your nominee.

If it is under employer-driven....i would not recommend you to do it. Stamped immigration visa in your passport does not mean that you PR. As soon as you cross the border and get your signed COPR then you will get freedom. I know the case when one fellow left his work while waiting for his passports back for all family. Employer informed the Gov...and that guy received passports without visas. He was kinda lucky because his worker status was not revoked by employer. So, he had back to work again for another 6 extra months while CIC was doing his own investigation. Even with stamped visas the officer at the border has access to the system and the officer has the right to give you denial...so do not play in this game unless you make sure that you can leave your employer.

I hate mine....eagerly waiting for passports back and gonna leave him right away...Good luck!

do not remove that application..you can proceed both applications at same time..one will be approved first than you can withdraw other one

I heard some can take weeks or months.. Seems like a lot of us got our BG check changed into in process last week. Mine changed last Friday too and I'm Apr 13 applicant.
