Jan 20 Applicant! Nothing yet! UGHHH!!! so frustrating!
Last GCMS notes has my file at PACE retrieved on 25th April.
Called them wednesday, and the call center guy was complaining that I call them every week and how i need to be patient... its been over 16 months how can someone stay sane with such long processing times.
Did u send a WRITTEN web request, or asking a MP to talk to them ? Speaking to them is just waste of time, they will just beat you around the bush

I guess we are 8-10 guys here from 1 Jan to 15 Jan.
No information at all what's going on with process. I'm Jan 7 applicant.

Have you tried the local MP?
This method works for me. I am Jan 4 applicant, and got nothing until May 16. So i contact local MP, and CIC send me the PPR on May 19th.
CIC's ass needs to be kicked. This is my past experience.

Hope this works for you as well.

Did you send an email to your MP or went to see him in person? How long did it take to get a response from the MP office?

I am Jan 8, 2016 applicant, medical passed on 22 February 2017, background changed to inprogress since 21 April 2017.

We have nothing to do. Keep calm and wait for the call. Don't worry, we will definitely get PR but may be late.

I just believe that the person who is handling all the early Jan applicants files is ON VACATION for a long time.

Yes, you could send CIC an inquiry about having a baby. The baby (if not born in Canada) also requires passport and visa too. Typical waiting time after medical exam would be from 2 months to 4 months to get PPR.
Thank you.
Actually baby was born in Canada so in this case I don't need to inform them?

You must notify them regardless. See the information you will need to send to them:-

(A) If the child was born in Canada:
You must submit the following document:
· a legible copy of a long form birth certificate showing the names of father and mother
No medical examination or processing fee is required if the child was born in Canada.

Thank you.

Jan 11application. Just got email reply from CIC.
"Your application is in the final stages of review prior to finalization and a decision should be rendered shortly. We do not require any information from you at the present time. An officer will contact you if further information is required."
Nothing change!!! This is same answer with a month ago!!!

Got some activity on my account finally.
My background checked changed from Not applicable to "we are now processing your background check".
