Sorry if it's a stupid question, but is the time between MR and PPR different if you're an inland application vs outside? In other words is the background check any different for inland applications?

Background would vary depends on individual situation. For people who have stayed in multiple countries before, usually the check time would be longer than someone who only stayed in one country other than Canada. As for the outside v.s inland application. That would be possible too. Because different case process center takes different time to work.
Would suggest GCMS notes if you need to know what process you are at eagerly.

How do you know? GCMS data is usually a month old. Did you talk to customer care?
I sent an email yesterday to the Ottawa office to check my file progress, they said the file is in CIO. The GCMS notes I got last month also indicate my file being in CIO.
Maybe I will send an email to the CIO office? I just don't know their email haha.

Let me know if you get the CIO email address. ;);)

So, just so that we are aware, can anyone who is a Jan/Feb/March applicant without a DM please post here with their application date? I think it would benefit everyone to understand how many of us are still waiting..

done landing and got my PR card too. Thank you so much for this group. this group has provided all the guidance as needed.

great!! If your file has been sent for additional security screening, Sep is a very good time to get something as July-Dec 2015 applicants like myself are waiting for security and hopefully will finish in 2 years!

Who is your country of birth?
What security depends
