Guys help if you can !

I am an inland applicant. I have done medical yesterday. My passport is expiring Jan 20,2018. Will CIC request for passport for visa stamp? Do I need a visa for landing?
Should I renew my passport now since it has be valid for at least 6 months?

Let me know please! Thanks

In my opinion,u should not worry about that..u've got enough time about 9 months from now,i ll suggest to proceed with that once u land and it wont take more than 4 months i believe!

Hi.
Good luck to you.
Looking at my timeline, you could probably make a few assumptions about your processing times and dates for expecting important stuff like MR etc.
Hopefully you get it in the timeframe that you expect it.

Friend, I am so glad to have found your post. I am applying from US as well and application processed within Canada.

they ask us to renew our daughter's passports as would expire in may 15 ( the request was sent in February right after medical exam) we got the ppr on April 21

Will CIC send me email if they require to renew passport? I didn't want to renew passport from Canada, since i have to go to back home to pick up my wife. I wanted to do it from back home... I don't know if i have that option. Thanks

Thank you for your thoughts!

Was your spouse also applying for permanent residency? I got married recently too but my spouse is Canadian. I already submitted the notification of change of marital status along with his certificate of Canadian citizenship. I hope this won't make my case into a complex one ...

Hi there,

Are there any January applicants still waiting? I keep seeing people who are March applicants being worried. Have all Jan gotten PPR now?

Jan 25 applicant, AOR Mar 31...
total - 15 months and 10 days since I have applied...

Initially, I thought that I would get my PR in 12 months... ;)

This long wait has become a permanent headache...
I want to buy a house, but don't want to buy until PR is done... tired of paying rents...

I am Jan 4th applicant, still waiting for PPR.
Not being a PR is not a problem when buying a house.
1. You can still get $5000 deductible as first home buyer when filling your tax next year
2. You can still withdraw your RRSP for downpayment
3. Showing the bank your PR progress when applying mortgage

I got my house last year, so no worry about buying a house.

Hi guys , after medical done, how long it takes to get PPR?

Depends on the VO, some people receive their PPR even after 2-3 weeks of their medical and some are waiting even for 2-3 months.

2-3 months would still be considered fast I would say. Some people have been waiting for 6 months ??? ??? ???
