I have a question if you have some idea. I did not provide my FBI certificate with my application, but sent my Indian PCC along. Now, I am in dilemma where should I mail this certificate, Sydney NS or Ottawa? Nova Scotia office currently has my file and not clear how long before it gets transferred to Ottawa processing center. FBI was issued on Jan 12 and may expiry by the time they request as website says it needs to be issued within 6 months of application submission. Its so confusing and dont seem to get conclusive responses anywhere.

Difficult situation. If you don't send now, it might get expire. Then why not send to Sydney NS assuming that documents are still with them and if takes 1/2 days to reach Sydney NS. Alternately if you send to Ottawa, if they don't have your documents, what would they do with your pcc. Neither might work but you may take a chance. Its my personal opinion. The final decision is completely yours.

I was also in US for 3 years and my FBI report is also issued more then 6 months before. But it was issued after I left the country and as per CIC norms we can use it as long as it was issued after one left the country. Pls check the following:

are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

Thanks for responding. I am still in US though so will it be considered valid for 1 year? As a matter of fact, my application submission date is Jan 3 and FBI was issued on Jan 12. I just didn't submit it along with my application as I wasnt sure whether it will arrive in time. So technically, it was issue no longer than six months prior to submission. To be on safer side, I sent a copy through CSE if they would consider unless they absolutely need the original.

I'm sure you might have received AOR and you did the right thing by submitting it through CSE. Only thing you can do is to submit the physical copy after consulting the CIC Call Center ot best you cna wait to get the file transferred to the office which is going to process your application and submit the physical copy there.
Just check with the CIC call center folks they indeed will check with Immigration officer and suggest you the best option.

Another suggestion is to initiate for another FBI report after 3 months or so just to cover yourself, anyways Immigration office will give you sufficient time to submit the Police report.
I dont believe there is much toy panic, you have many options to choose from.

I linked my application within 3 days after it was received by CIC Nova Scotia office.

U put all the information in the online with reference to the IMM 0008 right?
I find some ppl in other website .. they said they need to put a "space" into city/town.. and put "1" into the number of ppl

very strange the cic system.

It is straight forward, you need to fill the exact details you filled in your application.
