Hi guys,

I'm planning to go to one of the US-CA border to landing. I wondering if I need an US VISA to pass the border just for landing? I know some of my friends did without US VISA, but I still want to confirm since it will be a 6 hours drive.

Ask the officer that you want to do flagpole so he will issue refusal letter from US border then bring it to Canadain border give it to the Canadian officer he will issue another yellow slip and then submit both the papers to the Immigration officer then he/she will process your landing based on above two documents....

Good Luck!

Just confirmed that I do need an US VISA :( So another question is do I need to apply a new work permit (expire in Mar 17, 2017) before I landed? I'm an inland applicant.

Hi Luckychamp, so do you mean I do NOT need a US visa, the officer will issue something to bring me to the Canada side? Thanks!

Just called the US border, they said I don't need an US VISA if just for landing ;D but one more question, I don't need to make an appointment to landing at the border right?

No buddy you dont need an appointment to visit border. But check which order you are going as some borders are open for restricted hours.

Hey GUYS,

I hope everyone is doing great out there.
I become the PR of Canada on 13th Jan 2017 and now waiting for the PR Card.
Any September/Oct applicant got it yet ?
Plz share ur timeline

Thanks,

Alternatively, you can book an appointment with the nearest IRCC office to do your landing. It can save you time and money. I was initially told an appointment can take 6 -8 weeks but I got mine within 4 weeks.

Hello guys.. please see my case and suggest as soon as possible..

I am ontario PNP - PR Inland october 2015 applicant. On feb 6th (this month) i got my PPR. I sent my passport and in that PPR letter it was mentioned to submit info on any marriage or legal separation. On dec-8 2016 i got married in India and my spouse is India right now. I flew back to canada in January. So i send them the marital status update. Yesterday i received an email from CIC to fill list of documents regarding my spouse and also to pay the processing fee and RPRF fee ($550 + $490) if my spouse intends to accompany me to canada. so i was completely confused and nervous about my PPR stamping. here is my qsns:
1. If I choose my spouse not to come to canada RIGHT NOW and didn't pay the fee, do they review the spouse documents and will process only my PR file and will send my passport back with PR documents with in 4 or 5 weeks.
2. If i choose my spouse to come to canada NOW and pay the fees, do they hold my PR file and my Spouse's PR file and process it and then will send my passport back to me. and what is the processing time for this case to review and process my spouse PR.. because if its 10 months or 12 months i can't leave my passport with them for that much time...

please help !!!
Thanks.
