I am an inland applicant and my passport is expiring in December 2016 and till now i was waiting for medical as i was in assumption we need to have our passports for medical but looking at the current CIC processing I dont think we will receive medicals anytime soon. anyway i dont no your application processing times, but since you are inland it will be more easier, will advice you to renew your passport, and make sure you inform your VISA office about this, december is 4 months from here, and i no they cant issue VISA on a passport with that range, a passport will have at least 1 year validity, so act fast

very strange progress is going in CIC for paper based applicant. i am waiting a medical request for last 9 months but yet i have not got any response from them! it looks as if all work has been stopped there! may be vacations are going there!

Your driver license or any other government issued ID's will work. You should renew your passport soon. In our embassy, we can borrow our passport. Like, we can apply for passport renewal, then inform them that we are going to use it for Visa Application or we still need it. We'll sign a note that we will return it as soon as possible. Our new passport will not be released until we surrender the old one. Maybe you can try asking them (your embassy) if they are allowing it.

You don't need anything but to consult your panel physician about Upfront Medical since they have all the forms and such. When you make your appointment with the panel physician, let them know that you're looking for Upfront Medical. Good luck!

Note: even though you do early medical, it doesn't guarantee to speed up CIC's processing on your application.

Agree with you. In some cases, it causes delay and no significant effects on the speed of the processing.
