They will send your whole package back with remarks on what you were missing, You just have to apply again with a complete file.

Happened to me last year as well, sucks but nothing you can do other than reapplying.

When my friend applied PR, he got some problem, but the officer just sent him an email instead of return to whole package...
So.. maybe depends on the officer's mood? Lol

here's how i did
Hi all!

Here's one way to check the status of your CIC application.

1. Go to this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp

2. Click (Continue GCKey) blue tab ---- this is the one i used.

3. Sign Up

4. Select (Link the existing account)

5. Enter all required info

6. For English Test detail, use the following if you don't have the info handy:

Test: None
Test ID: 000
Test Date: CIC application received date

Hello,

i am going to send my PNP Paper Based application to CIC next week , but the problem is the mailing system in my country is very bad and most of mail packages get lost , so in my case if cic returned my application for any reason i will not deliver it at all.

because of that i already created ship and shop mail box inside Canada , can i mention this mail box as my mailing address giving that my residential address is outside Canada.

in case cic returned my application for any reason can i used (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp) to check if my application returned or not.
i mean did they change application status to "application returned" for example.

As far as i know it is nothing to worry about. I had received two notification from CIC saying changes has been made to my account but only the first change was the AOR. The second change was nothing.
