Hi there, exactly the same situation here. June applicant, no MR yet, and going back to China for a month.
I read it's ok to take your Medical Exam outside Canada though we are inland applicant.
Here's a link of ppl who have done that before. He's a inland applicant but did his ME in India.

But it's always better to write to CIC to get a written confirmation for the peace of mind.

Thanks, but I just want to make sure eveything would be fine....for example, if we do the medical exam in China and come back to Canada, if there is any issue and the doctoc would like to text again, I mean if, it is hard to direct come back to do the second exam again.

Well, in that senario, we could only wish ourselves the best luck that nothing goes wrong with the first examination. LoL.

Hi everyone. I'm new here.

My file was received on May 2, AOR June 2, medical received on May 2 and done in 1 week.
My BG is still NA. Now I am in anxiety. Not sure when my BG would change.

And they never asked for additional docs, but on my profile it was saying "the additional doc you submitted are being reviewed. " Very confused. Anyone has the same thing as mine?

I'm April 29th applicant. MR is on May 02, ME passed on May 18

Congrats! As I see April 29, 2016 was Friday so may be we will see May applicants Background change from next week and they always tie 15-20 days applications in one slot as in my GCMS my group name is May 15-May 31.

We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your request for the following reason:

· We require that you confirm which specific information you would like to receive:

- The electronic file, which include the file status and updates, the notes of the immigration or citizenship officer(s) as well as reasons for any refusal; or

- The application forms, supporting documents and correspondences sent to and/or from IRCC.


I am pretty for sure I chose the electronic file when I submit the requirement, is that means I have to wait another month to see my note after I realy this email???

Hi All, just checked my account and my status says Background check in process. It must have gone into "in process either yesterday or today" since I did not check my account yesterday but had been checking days before.

After 3 months of getting AOR, which is 6 months of submission, I got a message from them to submit a police certificate.

I'm not sure if our situation is the same. I did submit the Canadian police cert when mailing out my package. But I turned 18 in Europe only few months before moving to Canada. That's why they asked to submit a police certificate from there specifically.

What time did they give you?

You might have missed something when you applied or put wrong info.

My extended work permit is also expiring in a month and i have been asked to apply for BOWP..I have a close work permit. Can i still get BOWP on an existing close permit and also can i get the work permit from border? Also what is the processing time for BOWP?

Yes you can apply for BOWP. attach email with file number, select open work permit when asked what type of work permit you are applying for in the form. You cannot get BOWP from border as far as I know. 78 days currently.

Make sure you meet these 4 criteria

• currently be in Canada,
• have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within four months,
• select “Open Work Permit” as the type of work permit when you complete your work permit application, and
• pay the work permit processing fee and the Open Work Permit Holder fee.

When you submit your application, you must provide all supporting documents listed in your document checklist. You must also include a copy of your Acknowledgment of Receipt letter. (Email you got with file number, your PNP certificate - attach it to Letter of Explanation slot if you are applying online)
