I believe that when background check goes into progress again, probably tour file moves to Ottawa.

What do you mean, "into process again"? Does it go from "in progress" to something else then back to "in progress" again? My medcals are "Passed" since ages ago - April or May...I believe my file has been in Ottawa since for a while as they have asked me for some updates on April 22nd. Since then nothing at all

Hey,
I'm July 8 applicant.
Question for y'all. Do u get Email notification once ur status changes in my Cic?
For example when background status changes to "in process". Would u get an email notification? Or you'd have to go check my Cic everyday.

Thankx in advance

yes, I do, but I usually receive the email at the 2nd day after the change. Like this time, it changed yesterday in MyCIC, but received email notification this morning. I guess they put a lot of email notifications into a line, in case of jam, emails are usually sent out when the server has spare time.

I do have this experience, before I sent my FBI certificate to NS, I noticed that my background status was already in progress, after a few weeks when they received and reviewed my criminal history, the background status changed to 'not started', and now it's changed into 'in progress' again. not sure if this helps to clarify your concern.

When I linked my application to my CiC, it was in progress. Then later I got an update email and it changed to not needed. Then around July 20 it went to In progress again . Here I am talking only about Background Check not medicals.

do you guys know when you received the passport+visa from cic, how many months will they request you to land? is it 12 months or one month?

Ok Mishti, I understand. I haven't received any update email from MyCIC since June 16th...so Background check has been on "In progress" ever since. Don't really know what to make of that...
Meanwhile in ecas, "date modified" went from 26/05 to 15/07 and now 25/07...on either dates they didn't "modify" anything...

What does it means

Your processed passport has been dispatched 08/08/2016 to the Canada Visa Application Centre, Islamabad. You will be contacted when the processed passport is ready for collection. Please collect between 9am to 3pm from Monday to Friday.

One year from medical exam date (around that date - for me they gave till Jan30th instead of Jan20th).

That could be because you might have not ticked the little box asking if you want monthly updates of your status change.

Hi Ayokunle,

You need to enter the country within one year after medicals or 6 months before the.expiry of your present passport.

Please take note Brethren.

all make sense, but 6 months would be more reasonable. actually both requirements are pretty close.
